Is there a pre-registration for the award banquet on Jan 12th and has a time and place been set?

Yes, there will be preregistration for the Annual Awards banquet for CCR which is going to rotate to Asheville, NC this year. The January 12th Banquet starts at 5:30 pm right after the Social which is right after the Annual Business Meeting. Information will be posted in detail once the meal expense negotiation is completed. Should be real soon.

Hotels?? Nah make it a day trip.

Actually as it is on a Saturday I'm thinking of maybe going up early in the day and doing some mountain relaxing (i.e. Dragon Runs and what not.) Weather permitting. If weather says no, then I still want to go up early to enjoy some of the Ashville and mountain area. Anyone who wants to tag along is more than welcome too.

It would be nice to have more info about the banquet.. its 2 weeks away and we know nothing....would like to know where to book hotel if we want one... I'm up for doing something before the banquet as soon as we know whats up.. this is crazy

After having first choice drop the ball we have everything confirmed.

Clarion Inn off the airport exit of 26 in Asheville. Dinner will be a Buffet with 2 choices and all the sides with desert assortment.
• Roast Sirloin with a mushroom demi glace
• Baked stuffed chicken breast with a white wine
reduction

Cost will be $30

Room rates are $69 plus tax.

Please bring any video you have of the year as we will have a projection screen to show them on.

AJ, as far as snowboarding goes, I usually go up Wed's and Thurs because it's half the price, not busy at all, and I don't work those nights

We were lucky to get that price. Place we were working with after extras would have been 45. Any place that has banquet space goes 30 plus. This is a buffet so you do not have to choose what you want, just dig in!! Will have a full schedule and time of meetings, etc this week.

And (behind the scene) Steve tried several approaches to make this a success. I know it will be for and because of
the SCCA family.

Although $30 is a challenge for some, it's not a bad fee when you start dealing with hotels and their catering. Asheville is a lower cost market than Charlotte. Remember, these places usually are dealing with corporations that write off much of these costs. We're a non-profit club and we feel the pinch on a personal basis. When dealing with Charlotte locations they think you're cheap if you don't spring for the $50++ level(++ meaning plus tax (in Charlotte that means funding for the Arena and the light rail system) and plus tip which is usually 20% or more for large groups) Throw in the banquet room cost, flat rate for having a bartender, oh, you wanted a podium?
