Hi all, hope to be getting back to auto-x after a short hiatus (35 yrs?). Used to run a '71 Capri 2.0 and a Fiat X1/9. then went motorcycle roadracing. Did that in the 80's until I felt mortal. Anyway I hope make as many of these and Triad as schedule allows. I'll be runnng an '08 VW R32 in whatever class it fits until mods start. Won't make it this weekend but plan on doing the novice school and auto-x @ Metrolina the week after. I'm reday to kill some cones.

Welcome back.
Hope to see you and your VW at the school. And I do recommend running some Triad events as well. They run like a clock, with well organized events and always fun. We have a caravan going up from Concord to each event they run, and with the amount of Winston Salem dates this year, we will get some good numbers going up this year.

I will be making the Triad events. I live just outside Winston. can spit to it actually. Just 6mi to Groves, fairgrounds, etc. Back when I was Auto x'ing in New England, there were no fewer than 4-5 different clubs running events within a 100 mi. of me. You could run every weekend with out breaking a sweat. After driving trucks and vans for the last 30 yrs. this ought to be a hoot. Wfe wouldn't let track her Mini.

Welcome! I really like the R32, my Uncle has a red GTI (which I call his mid-life crisis). He let me drive it the first time he drove down with it; liked it a lot. Look forward to seeing you at all the CCR and Triad events!

I have a MKV GTI, and I love it, but man I wish I had the R32 AWD when I'm coming out of sharp turns. A true mechanical LSD would help, if I ever have an extra couple thousand dollars to spend.
