Looking for a NA8(94-97) miata engine, 100k miles or less would be ideal. It must pull good compression numbers and a leak-down test is a plus. 96-97 would be nice, newer is better right? My current engine is on it's way out!
Please let me know if you know of anything. Message me on this forum or shoot me an email: flier129@gmail.com
Thanks!

Hello Marcus,
You might try Steve Bertok at Panic Motorsports in West Columbia, SC, 803 261-7629. Steve has a somewhat large Miata used parts business and is a very successful Spec Miata racer.

SCCA rules are weird. If it didn't come in the car or that package then it's not allowed in ST. Putting a EGT engine into a miata will put you into CSP, even though it's the same BP as a 94-97 miata.
I guess you could do it and not tell anyone, I don't want to deal with the little retro-fitting. Freeze-plugs, dip-stick location, and changing the tensioner since the EGT's used a 1.6 water-pump.
