I'm totally new here but i have heard of a few autocross events going on near Charlottle and it got me intrested. Just looking for a few basic pointers in the right direction. I would like to be a spectator at event for sure! Can't compete because my shocks are shot due to getting rear-ended a few days ago. After the repairs I am definitely considering driving in an event.

Hey. There is an event in Laurens sc on Sunday. There are tons of people that will let you ride along and experience it. And I'm sure you can meet a few friends that can point you to someone to help the shocks. What kinda car do you drive?

I doubt you want to travel 2 hours one way just to do some ride-alongs (assuming you live in the CLT area)... but our next Charlotte area event is April 13th at zMax Dragway. Be sure to at least come watch and plenty of us will give you ride-alongs. Or if your car is fixed by then, register up and join in the fun!

SC is a bit far. Definitely going to try the Zmax event though and check the scene out! The shocks are the easiest part to change at the moment hahaha. Getting the transmission rebuilt since 2nd gear stripped out. I own a 1999 s10 with the xtreme trim package on it. It is on 245/55r16 tires all around w/ vented/drilled/slotted front rotors on ceramic pads. 4cyl 2.2 engine. There are a few aftermarket pieces on it but nothing serious, just a noisy daily driver for the most part.

That should be a fun ride. I'm currently building a 91 s10 for autocross.
