Triad Sports Car Club will be hosting their Annual Novice and Intermediate Autocross School at the Dixie Classic Fairgrounds on Saturday May 18 . Our School has been considered one of the most professionally run local schools in the country and is always staffed by incredibly talented drivers that include several National Champions , Divisional Champions and National Tour Winners . We implement many of the instructional techniques you will only find at the much more expensive Schools . We will NOT be doing the Friday Classroom session as we have previously done , we will instead have a short classroom session Saturday Morning from 8:30-9:30 with on course instruction immediately following . Please be on site and ready to have your vehicle Teched by 8 am. Our on course sessions should run from 9:30-5 pm with a short classroom/lunch break around 1 pm. Registration can be found here : events.auto-x.com/event/detail/85/Entry limit is 40 students and prepayment is required to reserve your slot .

When it says "members" does that mean SCCA members or Triad members. Just want to know how much to send in.

All Carolina Club members get our member prices for the school. We are not SCCA affiliates.

I threw the instructors for a loop with my RWD, almost 400k mile, no power steering, 1985 Celica GT-S. Duckworth can vouch for the oddity that was my first AutoX car and still is my daily sporting 406+k miles. Lets see if they like the Honda any better. Haha
I learned a lot last year and looking for seat time this go around. Definitely looking forward to it!

You will learn a lot from this school, it is highly recommended for people who want some more seat time.
And who doesn't love Dixie Classic Fairgrounds.

Just so everyone knows what to expect Saturday morning here is my tentative schedule. 7-8:30 - Tech and Registration are open , Course open for walking by 8 am. 8:30-9:15 - Drivers Meeting ,Novice Classroom Session Course open for Instructor runs Intermediate students can either join the classroom or take ride a longs with Instructors 9:15 - Students paired with Instructors and a quick course walk . 9:30 - Students split into 3 groups A,B,C . Instructional Runs Begin Group A runs 1st , Group C Works first , Group B stages cars for the next Run Group , As Group A Finishes their Instructional Runs they will replace Group C at the worker stations , B moves to course and Group C Stages for the next group. During these morning run groups I would like to see the Student take 2 runs , followed by the Instructor taking 2 runs then the Student taking 2 additional runs . It is not necessary for the Instructor to drive but is often very beneficial and sets a bench mark for the student . The remaining sessions will see the student doing the majority of driving . The courses will be set so that no one will need hard launches so that shouldnt be an issue . Lunch will be provided at approximately 12:30 . It will include a classroom discussion . If you have any questions please let me know . Instructors must be on site by 8 am.
