CCR is hosting the first of our two road races on Memorial Day weekend at CMP, and we would love to get YOU involved. Vounteers are needed for various positions including Flagging & Communication, Timing & Scoring, Pit, Grid, and Sound Control. Volunteers will get free meals for lunch both days, free dinner at the Saturday night worker/driver social, and a choice of a free hotel room (double occupancy) or a free AutoX for each day worked. Alternately, you can also choose $40 gas money for the weekend. Volunteers can register at www.dlbracing.com/clubs/RegisterWorkers.aspx?LMID=493&EventID=5294 and email vickieckerich@att.net with your choice of worker perk. Not ready to volunteer and get involved yet? No problem, we'd still love to have you out! Spectators are welcome at the event at no cost... just sign the waiver at the gate. Camping will be available all weekend at no charge also. Come see what club racing is about and hang out with your fellow club members. And be sure to stick around for the AutoX on Monday. There's sure to be a large contingent hanging out and camping Sunday night to get the early start on Monday activities, so come join in.

Another note about working course if you're an F1 fan..... The SCCA provided workers for the F1 USGP last year. I know at least 5 who went, and 3 are locals that will probably be at the Memorial Monster or Daylight into Dark at Charlotte Motor Speedway later this year. SCCA workers are also invited to work ALMS and Grand-Am events, so if you're a fan of any, here's your ticket to the closest seat in the house. Sign up for F&C, get your regional license, and work your way towards the invitation from Bernie!

I can't recommend this enough to anyone. Duck convinced me to go to the Memorial last year and it was AWESOME. I worked flagging at the Carousel Saturday with him and we we're at Turn 8 Sunday. And sweet mary mother of god was it insane. That picture is no joke. You are literally that close to the track if you work flagging. It's an easy job. You get compensated to stand feet from the track and hold up some flags. Why in the hell wouldn't you do it?? Especially turns like Turn 8 where you literally are only a few feet from the inside of the turn. Watching Spec Miata for sure at that proximity is incredibly fun. Free food, free beer (WINNING!), and lots of fun and shenanigans to be had. And of course you get to autocross on the track Monday. It's a perfect way to spend a Memorial Day weekend.
