Are there any planned Solo or Autocross schools scheduled in this area? I live in central NC. Have read about number requirement but nothing explaning how you get a number assigned and once assigned is it permanent and not changed each event? Thanks for any info.

Basically, you just look through the results in the club(s) you want to run with, and choose a number from you class that no one else is using. I don't know of any problems that has created in the past. With some clubs, you can have a number assigned, but I don't think that's the case with either Triad or Highlands, and I know you just choose your own here in CCR. Not sure about Tarheel??? If you go the the Triad Sports Car Club site - www.auto-x.com - and check the schedule, I think they have a school coming up in June. They are an excellent club, and you would enjoy the school. Also, the South Carolina Region - scr-scca.com - is trying to work out something to hold an Evolution Phase One school sometime later in the year, but that's still up in the air as I understand it. If you come to a CCR event, I know there are a lot of drivers who will be willing to give you some one-on-one instruction, as well. Hope this helps. Look forward to meeting you soon.

Triad and CCR both use "myautoevents.com" for preregistration at events. You put in your first three choices for a number (and your class) and chances are you will get what you want.

They usually run a school in June at the Danville airport. You're welcome. Pdawg
