Well, seeing as my car made the last half of the trip back from LJVM on a flatbed, I'm not sure if I'll be making this one. If I can get the alternator situation sorted out by Wednesday I'll pre-register, but until then I can't commit. Ahhhhhh what?!?!? You should come over to my place this weekend and commiserate with me as I pull my trans and think about how we would much rather be at CMP, lol. I'm in a wedding this weekend out of town or else I'd be glad to lend a hand/commiserate, and also why I have to get it done by Wednesday. I managed to get a new alternator last night, but since this will be the 4th alternator in my car since February I'm not counting myself in quite yet. And AJ, you're lucky it was under warranty or I would have sent you the bill  |

Well, after trying two different alternators tonight and both failing miserably my attendance isn't very likely at this point. I'm working on getting other options tomorrow, but after that I'm pretty much done. On a brighter note, I can now pull an alternator from an e36 motor in about 6 minutes, so if anyone needs a hand I've got you |

For those that need a car to race, I'll have my BRZ down there and available for use. It's not ultra competitive and is automatic (w/paddle shifters), but it's still pretty fun to drive.
It has 235/40 Star Spec Z1s (~50% tread) and a larger front sway bar and would need to run in STX (my wheels are 1" wider than stock). I'll even have magnets for you to use. Just let me know.

On a brighter note, I can now pull an alternator from an e36 motor in about 6 minutes, so if anyone needs a hand I've got you Dude I'll tell you, I've never had good luck with off the shelf alternators for BMW. They tend to not charge or overcharge. If I was taking my car I would offer it up. I'll be back in the STC chariot. Spread the word of the event everyone. PLEASE PRE REGISTER if there is even a chance of coming. Registration closes in 24 hours. |

I've always just used the highest amp version the parts store has in stock and never had an issue. Let me know if I can help. *crossing fingers the one tomorrow fixes things* |

Especially radiators at zmax, I've never heard of such a thing. Like any older car they have some known issues. Once those are tackled, they (in my opinion) are more reliable than most other brands from the same era. I spent a lot more time and money fixing my Hondas/Mazda then I have my BMWs. Cyndi's car is just mad it's still an auto... will continue to misbehave until that is sorted  |

Three sounded like they were strangling cats, two made wonderful burning smells, and the one that worked only did so for about 3 months and a total of maybe 800 miles. I finally just bit the bullet and ordered a new OEM one and that seems to have solved the issue, so I'll see everyone down at CMP! |

Great event today, guys. Kershaw is a tough place to hold an autocross for several reasons. The event today was as close to flawless as I've ever seen there. It was really nice getting four runs and still getting home in time to unload the car before dark!
