Not sure but if there is another event happening at the complex the inner gate may be closed. I've always entered from 27th street side.

Me too, but the map was made going off of AJ's last paragraph concerning how to enter the site: The enterance will be the one on the LJVM Coliseum side at the ticket booth to the fairgrounds. Turn off University Parkway into LJVM parking lot, follow the center multi lane road around until you see the ticket booths on your Right, there is a road just past them on the right where the entrance will be. From the east you can also go down Bus 40 and take the Cherry St exit. Turn right and stay on Cherry St/University Parkway until you turn right on 27th or right into the complex (LJVM site)

I usually come in 27th street also. I notice too many people getting lost coming in and out that way. We have made the arrangements to have the ticket booth entrance open, I believe 27th MAY be open as well
Andy, that's pretty good actually. Thank you!

Looking forward to this one yet again!! One thing I stress for everyone attending. You really need to work your assignments! And I know the idea of working in the wee hours of the night sounds horrible, but we need workers for ALL times of the event. We ran into the issue of little to no workers for the 2nd half of the event especially the 11pm-5am hours. If you sign up for a work time, you hve to work that time. You can't sneak into another time bracket to work and thinks its kosher. Otherwise it will be one hell of an event and I'm looking forward to driving all of your cars and let my inner-cASSino out >

How do the work assignments and times get decided at the 24 hour event?

you sign up for a 2hr work assignment for which ever (or both) 12hr portions you plan on running (2hr each session if you're going to do the entire event)
big thing is to get there early Sat so you can get the work sessions you want (and the jobs you want)

Walter is right.... When you come to registration we should have each 2 hour works shifts printed out and the various jobs such as: grid, start, course, etc.... you pick which 2 hour time slot you want (one 2 hr slot for each 12 hours registered for).... so basically first come first serve. As far as times go.... the only times which will be posted are the 5 runs that you will make official.... you can make 30 runs but only the ones you say are official will show up in the results and will count towards season points.

and no you can't wait 'til after the run to decide that you want to count the run ... you have to tell the started if it's going to be a "real" run

This really is a great event. It allows you to try out a bunch of different setups, lines, and techniques to really help learn your car and improve as a driver. Last year I was 6 hours late and still did 35-40 runs. Bang for the buck you can't beat this for seat time.

New to Autocross and to this event. Will the course (track) be setup with cones within the track or run as is (coneless)? I may just patten that word (Coneless)

IMPORTANT THING TO NOTE:
Be sure to get in some of your official runs EARLY. Just because you have four runs left at 11:55 does NOT mean we will wait for you to finish your runs. It's been a reoccurring problem with people waiting till the last minute to do all five runs then getting frustrated when we say the event is shutting down. When we say promptly at noon, we mean PROMPTLY at noon. This will be reiterated on site.

I was wrong , the current SCCA Max Sound limit is 100db ,,which is pretty dang loud . Triad usually enforces a 96db limit and can only remember 1 or 2 cars that have ever consistently went over the limit . We have asked some to quiet their cars because they were close but no one has ever been prevented from runing

I measured my S2000 from 50 ft back and hit 106 dB when I had my muffler delete setup. While I was never "officially" warned at an event, I did catch a ton of grief from everyone which is to be expected. I only ran like that for two or three events; now I keep the mufflers on.

So don't delay getting your official runs in the books. After the 20 hr mark, we're pretty much wiped out, so have a heart and don't wait to the last second. We would have a noise limit if we actually used the sound equipment. All you get from CCR is nasty looks when you're too loud.

As much fun as this event is, we do get tired. Those of us who were up the whole 24 hours last year (and it was more like 30-36) were ready to kill any thing that looked at us wrong. I personally had to stop halfway home and nap in a church parking lot to not fall asleep at the wheel. We understand that some cars run better in different conditions (i.e. the coolness of the night or the heat of the day), but we don't want to be waiting again for someone to get their last runs in in the last 5 minutes either. Especially after you have Casino demolish the course with the left fender of a CRX. All in all it's one hell of an event, and I look forward to some good fun with everyone and getting some good fun runs in some more cars. *wink* *wink* *nudge* *nudge* Kurt and Licursi

SCCA regions (even individual op stewards) are free to implement sound restrictions to fit their needs. Some sites are in heavily populated and/or residential areas. For example the San Diego tour usually has a 93dB@50' limit, but airport sites are often 100+ dB. cheers donour

I'll be testing my car this evening, and if it checks out then I'll be signing up. In regards to the sound levels, it's worth noting that the grand stand, though a great viewing area, is actually really loud. The shape amplifies the sound a bit.
