Mike and AJ: Is registration open? The MyAutoEvents page from the link above did not have a registration link. I found the event listed for Oct 5th and 6th, but that page didn't have a registration link either. (The registration for Dixie appears to be okay, though.)

This will be my first NCAC. Got a few questions.
1) Do you have to run both days for your PAX time to qualify for the cup? 2) Is the course the same for both days? 3) I think I might just do Sunday. There is no time for tech or registration on the Sunday schedule. How does that work? 4) The first car out time on Sunday is a lot later than normal. Are we anticipating less drivers that day?

1) can't remember honestly, but it will be best overall pax time. 2) No the course will be different on Saturday and Sunday 3) if you come Saturday your car is teched for Sunday already, but if you are just doing Sunday we will have someone on site to tech your car for you no worries. 4) Concord has a noise ordinance so no "race" engines running until after 12:00 It is early in the morning and I haven't had coffee yet to be answering questions...

To get a time for the Club Cup, you need to compete on both days.
We will have tech open on Sunday at 9am for Sunday only drivers.

I'm going to go ahead and register but there is a chance I might not be able to make it due to a 'work trip'. If I don't make it to this one then I will see everyone in the springtime next year!

If there is anyone who is willing to pitch in on Friday night or even Saturday morning for registration just let me know. I could use all the help I can get... I might even have snacks and coffee for you there.

FYI to the core workers - much to my dismay I will be out of town the whole weekend so someone will need to take over waivers. I know the regulars can pitch in and help like the Chief of S**t Talking, Alan, Steven, etc. Just post up if you can help out in the mornings.

Thanks Eric, I figured she would be around... whenever I figure out how many people "victims" I can gather I can figure out how I think I want to run things Friday night and Saturday morning, figured Sunday morning wouldn't be to bad since I hope most will come on Friday. I'm going to take the whole day off of work so I can help with anything Friday morning and then get stuff setup at the hotel in time for the evening.

I normally run STO and am not in Cup. Is this event open to STO novice? If yes, should I register for one day only on Sunday? When is tech for Sunday? Thanks!

Mike and AJ: I assume there will be a different course each day, with finishing positions determined by the combined times from each of the two days. That's they way NCAC has been done since we went to the two-day format, unless there has been a recent change. Please confirm. Some folks may be thinking it is best time from either day, as is sometimes done with the CCR/SCR joint events. (If this info has already been posted, please excuse me for not doing my homework better.)

You would still be correct... There are 2 different courses mike has designed.. In order to count towards club cup you have to have times for both days.. 1 days won't count for club points

registered and *GASP* prepayed! Oh, yeah. XP at NCAC just got MUCH more interesting. Glad you're registered, Josh. It's always great fun watching you and Jon battle it out, even if it does usually mean I'm just fighting for whatever scraps are left. (Now if we can just pick up a car or two from out-of-town, this could be even better!)

Glad to see entries are picking up. The NCAC may well be the longest-running state championship series in the nation. Mike Landreth and Richard Winchester began the state championships in 1986. It began as an outgrowth of the Carolina Autocross Challenge (CAC). For a few years, Triad, NCRSCCA, and Tarheel had been conducting a 3-club championship, where each club held events that counted toward the series. In 1986, CCRSCCA and Highlands were added. With the five major autocross clubs in the state represented, the series became a true State Championship. The name was change to North Carolina Autocross Championships (NCAC) in 1987. For the next fifteen-or-so years, championships in each class were determined by points from seven-to-nine events per year scattered across the state.
The format was changed to a single-weekend two-day event somewhere around 2003, with CCR holding the first one. Each year, the honor of hosting the championships is passed from club to club. Last year, NCRSCCA joined the series again. (I hate that I didn't get out there for their return to the fold.) This year, CCR is the host. It's a great club at a top-notch site, and the NCAC always draws some of the best competitors in the state. A "normal" CCR event at ZMax is hard to beat. But the NCAC is a step up. If you're not signed up, you still have time. This has the makings of a very memorable event, and a suitable continuation of the tradition. Let's show folks why we are proud to be members of CCR!

Registered. Looks like Highlands is under represented thus far, but otherwise it looks pretty well balanced.
