Welll i just got home form the NTI AutoX event, and man... I had a blast ! Though my car decided it was abused enough and it puked a lower radiator hose on my 325, It was the most fun i can remember having in a long time. Road racing , and Rally are my SEVERE interests. I am serious about starting up and club racing with you all, i will start in G-Stock class ( I drive a '87 BMW 325 e E30, 5sp, all that jazz...). Just need some advice as to "how do i go about getting in" sort of thing. Any help, tips, pointers, and advice is always welcome. i learn best from hands on anyway.
I was wondering if CCR conducts or is thinking of conducting rally type events?

Glad you had a good time today. I thought everything went well!! What kind of rally? Dirt rally or road rally? SCCA dumped its full speed dirt rally after some incidents at events (including a few deaths of spectators who weren't where they were supposed to be). NASA picked up the series and now it's moved to Rally USA (I think). Check here - sandblastrally.com/ - for the closest rally to us. There is rallycross, pretty much an autocross but on dirt! Shane (the red Fiesta) has talked about building their old Saab for running them. For a road-type rally (Time-speed-distance) there area few around. Our Miata club went to one in Elkin a few months back. Now, ask away!!

Glad you came out and good to hear that you enjoyed it. For info on autocross you will want to check out the Novice threads which have a lot of advice and driving tips. You should also download a copy of Kate Hughes "Solo Handbook" at:http://www.tirerack.com/features/solo2/handbook.htm
Also read the thread "Solo Novices - look hear for tips" as we have posted a lot of helpful hints.
come on out sunday and join us in the fun! you will also want to keep in touch via the forum on our annual 24 hour autocross event. This is a great chance to get in a LOT of run time and really learn a lot about your car - if you have any questions > look for me in the ugly red Furd Fiesta. Or any other member - we love to discuss cars and autocross.

The WRC stuff got dumped by SCCA a bit ago due to liability issues. Something about folks not being where they were supposed to be. But RallyCross is new for SCCA and growing, and would seem to be a great way for an autocrosser to drive on dirt.
