Greetings all. Looking to compete in the next event with my 2005 Subaru Legacy GT. My car is running an aftermarket catted downpipe and a stage 2 ECU tune which ups the stock boost. The turbo is factory. I have been told that upping the boost puts me in SM automatically, but then I have found a couple of threads of Subaru forums stating that as long as the turbo is stock I can compete in STU. I figured I should ask before I make my car numbering/lettering and end up in the wrong class.
Thanks for any help.

Thanks, I don't know why I didn't re-read the rule book. I thought I read it a while back and the definition wasn't clear, but I read it again just now and it is clear as day. SM it is!

As long as you don't change any restricted hardware (turbo, etc) higher than stock boost levels are legal in SP as well. That rule changed 07ish iirc.

Page 102 of above linked rules Guess I'll show up with lettering for both SM and SP and see what the tech inspection determines, unless whoever is in charge of that sees this and cares to chime in.

Keep in mind the inspection is a safety inspection and a given inspector may not have an encyclopedic knowledge of the rules. As always, the rulebook is the final word on class legality.
