Stupid question...I know. I can't really put shoe polish (or whatever it is you put on them) on the windows, because they will be down along with my top. Where can I get some pregnant dogin' numbers to put on the side of my car for autox? How big do they need to be? Anything I need in particular? Would some crafts store have them...like say Michael's?
Bwahahaha, "bitchin"

Specs are 8" tall for numbers, 4" tall for numbers.
Look in the for sale section. Several board members can make numbers and have posts there.

if you go to THSCC.com site (Tarheel) - www.thscc.com/autocross/info/numspecs.htmlThey have a Number/classes set at legal size and all you need to do is print from there PDF file. Use a little painters masking tape (the blue stuff) and presto you have cheap, fast, legal numbers.

Thanks, what kind of numbers and letters are you talking about? Magnetic? Are you going to be at the 24hr? How much do you charge? Well lets see, my car is black so something that contrast black well (edit: how about yellow?). As for the font, anything but Webdings is fine. I'm guessing I'll be in Novice class, but don't I have to still say what my car would be in if I wasn't a novice? In that case it would be E-stock. My email is pm68842@gmail.com. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Looking forward to hearing from you. Yes I can do magnetic, I am not 100% sure about the 24Hr event yet I want to go just not sure yet I'm about 98% sure I'm going. I can do yellow, and if you have a favorite font I can do it, also you'd have to tell me what number you'd want your car to me. If you register with myautoevents.com let me know what 3 sets of numbers you pick. I can do the numbers individually that way if someone else uses your number you can change it real quick. I've been thinking about just cutting a bunch of numbers for the 24 and bringing them with me and hope people will want to buy. As far as price. If you want it magnetic Both letters and numbers for both side's I'd do the whole kit for $50. let me know if you are interested.

Is there any other option besides magnetic? Are you in Charlotte?

I live in Concord and work in charlotte. if you tell me exactly what you are looking for I can better tell you what I can do. If your just wanting it stuck right to the car that I can do other then that let me know what you are wanting and I can see what I can do. if you just want it stuck to the car I can do it for $35-40 depending on numbers, for everything.

The Corvette guys use static cling decals, magnets don't do much good on their rides!! There are some on-line places that do the static, www.solotime.com/ for one.

I don't understand how they'd stick to the car other than with magnets. Unless you're talking about using painter's tape to hold them on. I don't know exactly what I want to do yet. The 24hr will be my first autox; I don't know if I'm actually going to stay in E-stock or not...I'll think about it and post back here within the next few days.

The static cling numbers are just a thin plastic film that is is slightly sticky but does not use an adhesive. sort of like Saran wrap.

I can do this for you if you like. if you switch to a different class I'll cut you a new set for free. This is just the class not the numbers.
oh I know this sounds a little crazy, but so ya know the magnets i use can with stand over 100mph. don't ask. lol

Haha! Alright, I want yellow numbers 4 and 9, yellow E-stock. Do I need some kind of visual thing on the car that I'm running in Novice class? I could jiffy a temporary sign for that. If you throw in a yellow number 3 just for back up...$50 is yours, my friend. My email is up the page if you need that.
Edit: this is for magnetic.
Edit again: I think I'm actually going to hold off on this purchase for now. Still have to get an alignment and pay to get into the 24hr and get gas. I might come up with some extra money, but don't have it right now.

You will need to add an "N", unless you just want to tape it on until you've expired your Novice timeframe

I just checked the rulebook, and it is not specifically addressed. So I guess it is up to the individual region or club. Sorry I couldn't help more.

CCR has allowed you to run a full season in Novice, so that you can pursue a "novice" championship

And if you run 1 or 2 events as a novice one year....can you still be a Novice the entire next season?

Sorry for the late reply.

Ok well back on subject. I'm going to cut some numbers in a couple of colors and bring then to the 24 tomorrow. they will be just vinyl so you can put it in the car then peel it off when done. i'm going to sell them CHEAP so don't worry about the waste.
letters will be $2 a character and numbers will be $1.50 a digit. i can take orders for anyone who would want a set for after the 24 in magnet or cling or anything. Thanks and hope to see ya there! Just look for the dark Blue Protege5 #41.

In answer to the original question, if you feel like spending a few minutes with scissors and spray paint, the class/number magnets can be made very easily yourself. The cheapest way to do it is to buy magnetic vent covers from Lowes. A pack is about $5, and comes with (3) 8"x24"(?) sheets of white magnetic vinyl... just enough for (4) 8" numbers and (4) 4" class letters, if I recall correctly. If you want to do a lot of numbers, Jo Anne's sells a 4'x8' sheet of nice, thick magnetic vinyl for $20. Then print out numbers and classes. Tape the printed paper to the magnetic cover, and cut it with an x-acto knife. If you want a color other than white, you can spray paint them. I used standard paint, but I've heard of some people using plastic paint. Bad picture, but here's are some numbers I did last year: pic. I did 10" letters, instead of the typical 8", so they'll be ok for NASA HPDE's, should I ever do one.
