I suppose I could run in the late model cam but I would not be competitive if anything truly set up came. So you dont think you will be competitive in CAM but you will be in XP I won't be competitive in either class. I will, I hope, put on a good show before the stewards put the truck in a straight jacket.

I like all of this Nova talk...... I like the CAM class idea. Last year, I did Metrolina (Almost got ejected..) and ZMax, and just ran in STO. I hope to do several SCCA events this year. Looking forward to it!! Welcome back, enjoyed watching you run. Hope to see your enthusiasm again.

I'm hoping to show up for your May 3rd event, and yes, I'm one of the bullies with a "new" car in the CAM class. I'd prefer CP but I can't throw money at slicks right now... and the way I see it, the tech in a '98 F-body isn't much techier than in a '69. Solid rear axle, clunky front suspension and a terrible power to ability-to-control-power ratio. I don't think this class was set up for numbers-matching classics anyway. I think it was set up for spectators to watch unique cars make a lot of rear-tire smoke and for the drivers to leave with a big grin on their faces, trophy or not.
That said, I'm fine with a split class or whatever.

Comments from a conversation with Jon at Kershaw: As a rule, I am against more classes. We have far too many classes already, and more classes tend to just dilute the existing pool of drivers even farther. But CAM has certainly proven to be the exception. It has brought in new cars that were NOT already there in some other class, and the drivers of those cars certainly seem to be having a good time. Participation in the class has been respectable, with a bit of variety at each event. And, whatever else one may think about this class, there is no question on this: Those are some of the coolest cars at the event!

CAM is awesome, I'm also impresssed with the early participation in the class and the cool cars that come along with the class. Hope to see more people step into some American Muscle and run with us at Black Lake and zMax later this year.

Dean I very much agree with you. CAM has been amazing. The three corvettes have been consistently showing up and are now having side wages on winning. Beautiful cars each event to watch. I'm anxious to see the word get out and see the class grow.
