Don't forget that there is a car show at Charlotte Motor Speedway so plan accordingly with traffic if you leave for lunch etc.....

Course map up. Designed by Steve Duckworth Thanks, Duck! The bottom of the course should be named "tighten your belt" - would be nice to loosen the buckle and let the belly hang out a little bit... See you Saturday...

That was fun even though I missed my last run because the axle seal leak was getting too bad. With re-runs, I had five runs anyway. I'll be driving someone else's car at the Jetport near Chattanooga tomorrow.

Nice course. Looked open but ran tight. Thanks to everyone for the organization and hard work.

Here's a video of one of my runs, not that it's any great shakes, but...

That's pretty cool. What kind if data collection are you using? With the GoPro?

I thought it was really open and fast with the exception of a couple of slow digs (which should always be included) ,, I hit the 65mph limiter at 2 points on course and was just a couple mph off of it in another spot .

Great course. Taught me a lot about the Miata. How I never killed every cone on the greased Matt section was beyond me. Foot to floor and closed my eyes. Drove like a road course. Very good novice course. Kudos Duck.

That was a fun course, well done Mr Duck. I had a run that went so well, 4 cones got sucked into my wake.

That's pretty cool. What kind if data collection are you using? With the GoPro? Harry's Laptimer for iOS, Grand Prix edition. I'm using an iPhone 4s to run the program and collect accelerometer data with a Dual XGPS160 for 10Hz GPS position info and a GoPoint BT1 bluetooth OBDII dongle for rpm, throttle and other engine data. HLT will also control a Wi-Fi equipped GoPro. Video transfer from the Wi-Fi GoPro can be done using the iOS GoPro app, but it's slow. OTOH, doing it any other way gets complicated. Once the video data has been transferred to the iPhone, HLT does the data overlay, including PiP if you have multiple cameras, like the camera on the iPhone. I prefer the drivers side B-pillar view rather than the windshield view. A 4s is getting marginal. A 5s would be a lot better, but I don't have one and am unlikely to get one any time soon. A fifth generation iPod Touch will also work if you have the external GPS.

I also use Harry's with a 5S and still have lag issues, but that could be my OBDII dongle. I bought a USB OBDII cable and going to start an AX data logger for Raspberry Pi (well pretty much anything Linux) during the off season. I have a Dual XGPS160 for GPS.
The logger will use ELM for OBDII and NMEA for GPS. I'm going to open source it on Github.

I have no clue what you guys said in the last two posts...
And I am tech savvy.
Research time.

It did work once so I got a get shot of my nostrils.

All I need is one clean run per event. The rest is just for run.

Any experience with Trackmaster. I've used it for some time, but have never tried to integrate with the Gopro.

Everything was working very well this weekend, but it isn't always that way. Some weekends, nothing seems to work. At the ETR event at Chilhowee this year, my old GoPro that I had on the B-pillar shot nothing but one still picture for most of the runs. I must have hit the power button twice to shift to still picture mode and didn't notice. I got one video because I had to change the battery and it automatically reset to video mode when it powered back up. Recently, my GoPro3 wouldn't stay turned off. I had to reload the firmware. As the saying goes: To err is human, to really screw things up, you need a computer.

Saw some people there taking picture, wondering where they may put them.
I had the brown Nissan 300zx
If anybody has any pictures I would love to have them.
Thanks, JR
