Ok guys...this is the most important question of the year. What tire to buy for 2015. Assuming I stay in STS...I actually like my Kooks but I've often wondered if I shouldn't go back to the magic Toyos since I don't have to worry about the Texas heat anymore. Then again those Rivals are looking pretty good.
What say you?

Good question. The rumor mill is running wild with dilemma. Toyo supposedly showed a 200 rated R1R at SEMA. The "other" players all have something planned if you believe the interwebs. I just put new 'Kooks on so I'm hoping there is no "Fairy Dust" tire this year.

If the new Toyo stays off the exclusion list.. It's the tire I'd be on.
The Toyo does require some feeding though. On my STC Civic we'd get between 100-120 usable runs out of the fronts and 250+ out of the rears. This was with no street driving but shaving to 3/32s off the bat.
The kooks on last about twice as long but give up transitional speed. I know the Toyo is the faster tire, the kook is easier to drive on, cheaper and longer lasting..
YMMV

Thanks for the feedback guys. Seems like the jury is still out on this issue.

I think I'll drive down on the 'Kooks and have the Toyo's on the trailer. Then I'll be ready for anything. yea right.
