I am an SCCA member but my wife is not. She will be coming with me to the first AutoX event of the season (to see if this is something she wants to do with me on a regular basis) and I'm just wondering, besides a helmet and entry fee, is there anything else she would need to drive?
I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that two drivers can use the same car, correct?

Also, a side question to this. I see that you can register a number (car number) when you register for the event (when registration is available), how are the numbers regulated? I went back and looked at the results for last seasons events to see what numbers are used but seems kind of random. Can I just pick a number? I have one in mind and it was only used a couple times last season by what appeared to be one-time visitors. I would like to go ahead and get the number/class stickers/magnets taken care of. If I wanted to use 75, can I?

were they in your class ? numbers are class specific … so there could be STS 55 (me) and their could be STX 55 (whomever)

Try not to use a season long competitors number from your class ,,otherwise just pick a number you like . As for the wife ,,,we have plenty of Significant others who codrive in the same car ,,and would be glad to put some pressure on her to drive !!

Once you pick your number, add 100 to get your wife's (or any co-driver) number. So if you choose 75, she would be 175. It is real easy to add a 1 to the side of your car using a piece of tape.
