Trying to figure out something. I have read up on PAX time and was wondering why my PAX time is no different from my RAW time. Is it because I'm a novice?
BTW, it was a great time this weekend. Looking forward to the next event. Thank you to all that put in their time to make this possible.
I should just make my signature ... "The only Lexus, that's me"

If I am reading everything about the Novice class this year correctly, Novices were given a PAX of 1.0. So that may explain why your Raw and PAX are equal.

Essential no Pax is assigned to Novices . They want you to just concentrate on driving, not competition.

if you really really need to know, figure out what class you car is, then look up the SCCA PAX for that class and do the multiplication and see where it falls in the PAX results … but, yeah, what Drum3 said … concentrate on driving and getting better (do ride alongs, get hot shoes to ride with you) do schools …. seat time seat time seat time

Greg, You really should only worry about your times and getting better as a driver. But if you are interested in finding about some autocross math, here is the link to PAX index for 2015. 2015 SOLO PAX

I greatly appreciate the information. I am just one of those people that try to get an understanding of how everything works. I am concentrating on improving my driving skills and learning my car, but there isn't much I can do toward that goal while sitting here at my desk. Wrong kind of seat time. So, learning how the PAX thing works doesn't sound like a bad thing. I don't think me and my little hybrid Lexus did very bad this last weekend. If I wasn't in the Novice class, my time would have earned me second in the HS class out of three. I'll take that for my first time on the track any day.
I appreciate the assistance I got on Saturday from everyone involved. And thanks to Matt for riding with me and beating on my car for a lap. That really helped give me a feel for what I could do with my car in different spots on the course.
With the knowledge posted above, my PAX calculation would have put me in the middle of the pack. GO LITTLE HYBRID! (btw, I'm a HUGE muscle car guy, this is just what I have at the moment ..... so, to the track!)
One more question. I read the novice rules again and saw that it says something about only being in the Novice class no more than 3 times. So, after event #3 this season, I will move to the HS class? Just planning ahead.

I calculated what my PAX would have been in ES, and... I'm still waaaaay at the bottom haha.
But hey, looks like you did well. I saw your car out there and thought "hey, that's the guy with the CT200h" Glad your first event was relative success.
