Does anyone have any information on Wayne Bard racing a 1966 Shelby mustang group 2 trans-am car in 1970. He says he was CCR champion in 1970 and has a watch that is engraved with that information. I have purchased this car from him and am trying to gather any racing history of the car. Being a Shelby made car any racing history greatly increases it value. Anyone with any information or pictures would be greatly appreciated.

Check the roll cage for a stamped number. Should be on the passenger side of the main hoop. CCR number would be 61-XXX.

Is this the one? "CAR #16 Reportedly purchased by Shelby American employee (name not known). Driven to Charlotte, NC. Purchased from used car lot by present owner Wayne Bard (Seminole, FL) 7/69. Driven until '77 and garaged and untouched since then. Delivered with aftermarket chrome Crager 15" x 6" chrome spoke wheels. Reportedly never raced." www.1966shelbynotchbackmustang.com/NotchbackHistory.htmlOr this? "The History of the Shelby T/A no. 16 This car has been a mystery for years with little publication. It has been found after 40 years and is now a topic of the SAAC forum. Reportedly it was sold to a Shelby employee and driven to Holman Moody in Charlotte/NC. Lee Holman remembers it sitting in their shop. He told me that story as well last year when I visited him during the 50th Anniversary. Wayne Bard from Florida bought it from their used car lot in July 1967. It has been garaged soon after and was obviously sold in early 2015." www.ponysite.de/66_shelbygroup2_16.htmI have a few other places to check...let me know if this is THE car. Ted

yes, that is the car in question. A friend and i bought it a few weeks ago. My partner is running the post on the SAAC forum. Wayne told me that he won a race with this mustang. He said he raced it a few times, but not in a sanctioned race. any information on this car in a race sanctioned or not would be appreciated. He said he had some club news letters about it but could not find them.
