I was looking to start autox last year but wasn't able to. So this year, two events in, I am looking for some more seat time. I remember when I was looking last year, I read somewhere that there was an even held each week ( I think ) that was in the same place and has the course setup the same way every week. Purely for practice. I do believe it was a Wednesday night but I can't figure out where I read it or where it is. Does anyone know what I'm referring to?
Yes, I know I can go to other region events if I want to travel, but I'm pretty sure this was somewhat close.
Any information would be great.

I think they called it the Knight series (something to do with being at knights stadium at some point). It was run two years ago if memory serves. Or someone steps in to correct me. I have not heard of them running one this year.

We used to do a night series in Wednesdays once a month or so in the summer months.... we didnt do last season ... they started to be loosely attended and it poured rain 3 of the 5 last ones we did.... we used same course every time...

yeah, that was the Wed. night series … don't think it was every week (once a month ? ) … Highlands Sports Car Club (Asheville) does the same thing (and it is roughly once a month)
if you can't travel that far, and you're wanting seat time, maybe combine the Triad events and the CCR events … should get you 2 events a month .. if you can travel far enough South Carolina Region has monthly events, as does Tarheel, and North Carolina Region

As Walter said, if you're willing to travel 2 hours or so from Charlotte, you can do an event almost every weekends somewhere with various clubs. Many of us will be going up to Winston-Salem this Sunday for the Triad SCC autocross. It is a smaller lot than either Black Lake or zMax, but seat time is great everywhere.

Thanks for all the feedback. I was hoping for a weekday evening thing. Weekends are valuable at the moment. I will be dedicating a couple weekends a month next year, but not now.

Another option is to start sim racing. I am not talking about forza or GT. You would need a good wheel with force feedback. Good sims include live for speed, asseto corsa, iracing, or rfactor. There are more but that is the quick list. Most don't need a super fancy computer to play, a mid range graphics card would work perfect. Sims allow you to practice on your own time with out leaving the house. It is good training for throttle control and looking ahead. It translates quite well.
Another way is to either rental karting if you want to feel the gforces. I would recommended victory lane or gopro motorplex. Gas karts, not the overweight electric karts.

I actually have a membership to iracing. Along with the computer and wheel/pedals to do it. I haven't been back on it for months due to work and when I was doing it, I had a hard time due to the lack of the physical feedback (sound, vibrations, gforces ...). But now that I have a couple actual events under my belt, I will give it another shot. Thanks for the information.

I'd second the karting recommendation. The first Wednesday of every moth, they run a league at Victory Lane Karting called the Golden Benny. It's a "just for fun" league and at the end of the season, the proceeds are donated to charity.... but you'll get 2 8 minute stints in a 32 minute enduro, and 3 10 minute stints in a 1 hour enduro. Lots of seat time for a decent price and for a good cause. When you run with fast guys like that, your options are to get good quickly or you're gonna get run over. I'd suggest the former My co-driver claims iRacing is the reason he went slow this weekend. He said he's gotten so used to the slow, deliberate, early braking required to not crash horribly in iRacing that he was braking way too early and way too lightly at the AutoX this weekend in Atlanta. I dunno about that, but it is kinda hard to get a feel for things. I actually play one called "Live For Speed" that has an AutoX mode in it. It's pretty cool, but still hard to look ahead and there's no feel for the g-forces again.
