I've been around Corvairs for some 20 years. I've been crew for numerous racers across SE the last 7 years including RR, CMP, VIR and Road Atlanta at The Walter Mitty. I've recently traded for a SCCA mostly fiberglassed bodied, caged, full race prep motored Corvair w/SCCA log book. I'd like to test it out, get used to it locally with some autocrosses first before hitting the drivers school head on. My initial problem is fuel. The motor is 13.7 to 1 and requires 110 octane. I cannot seem to source any in Greenville/Piedmont area. If there's anywhere that Joe Blow can drive up and put some into some 5 gallon cans then please let me know. It can't be detuned w/o considerable expense.
I've emailed Anderson Speedway - no response. I've emailed Greenville-Pickens - awaiting response. How about Greer Dragway?
I'd love a place like Sunoco that I just drive up and buy it w/debit card. Their fuel finder sucks, completely unclear what station sells what and the 3 local places I called don't answer the phone.
Thanks for your time.
P.S. this forum looks pretty dead, not many recent posts. Better place?

Awesome...Anderson Motor Speedway finally replied 30 mins after this post - SUNOCO 110 is $8.50. If anyone can beat that let me know please. I'll always be on a budget. Funds are always considered limited.

If you can use Sunoco 100 Octane Race fuel it is in area service stations and less than $7 per gallon in SC. Check Google for stocking retailers in Greenville, SC. 1804 Poinset Hwy, Greenville Sunoco station is supposed to have Race fuel. Also check Pumpers on S. Pleasantburg drive.

Not that it is directly responsive to your post, but a handy phone app is Pure Gas, which will help you locate ethanol free gas relative to your location. Most listing include octane info, though the most I've seen is 100.
