Hey folks, just signed up for the forum here. I have been registered at Triad SCC for a while now but never made it to an event. Just bought a 94 Mustang GT convertible and determined to go have fun with it!!!
Based on a post over at TSCC, they mentioned CCR has Saturday racing options which works out much better for me than Sunday events. So even though I will end up driving a bit further that should allow me to participate more often!
Being a 100% newbie, I will probably ask lots of questions and I 'think' the class that I should be headed for is CAM? I will appreciate any thoughts on that, I know I am novice right now and will go from there. (Rookie 2016?)
The car...
1994 Mustang GT convertible. Stock suspension but I believe the tower brace support brace could be an aftermarket add on?
Engine has been modded, with E303 cam, .498 lift, MSD Ignition, Cold air intake kit, custom X exhaust, aluminum radiator, all done by previous owner so getting this all second hand.
I see lots of fun upgrades for the future, but at this point I figure I need "track time" to get a feel for what I have before I start throwing parts at it!! Long term I suspect it will get lowered via coilover kit, subframe connector kit welded in, and possibly wider rear tires. (245/45/17s on all four corners now, street tires)
