Thanks all to everyone who volunteered and helped in any way with the Roebling Double Points/Last Chance TT this weekend.
Other than some definite confusion with regards to how the TT/PDX run groups were handled Saturday afternoon, everything seemed to go fairly smoothly considering they were short staffed. A few accidents/offs/engine failures over the weekend, but everyone stayed safe and left with bruised wallets only. After the hit Gary's car took in the tire wall, I don't think anyone was more surprised than me to see him back out the following session!
This seemed to be a well attended event with a fair amount of cars on track each session, and while some novice drivers may have had a bit of tunnel vision early on, everyone seemed to be doing a good job of staying calm and observing point-bys and passing zones (and the flag stations were doing a good job with the blue/yellow), so I commend the drivers as well in that regard.
Congrats to everyone who earned a TT championship, including a few which were captured in the last of Sunday's sessions. For those who just missed out, I look forward to seeing you back in 2017 with some fresh gear and your A games. I'm hoping to have RX-Ain't 3.0 out in 2017 against some stiff competition in the SU class while I develop the car and get reacquainted with an engine that has more power than a unicycle once again. Thanks to Ron R., Rich B., Shane, and Steve E. for loaning a helping hand, tools/support, and answering some questions for me, and thanks to everyone else who helped over the course of the year, be it moral support or the more traditional task of helping push my lifeless vehicle onto a trailer.
See you all in the spring, one way or another!
