This post is directed to Brian Gause:
Brian, I tried to sign your form at yesterday's autocross but the pen didn't work! I am a GS competitor w/o any safety equipment for my car. I participated in the Solo Spectacular @ CMP in '05 and had a ball! The event comprised of a Level 3 (Track Trials) event on the "lower" end of the track and a Level 2 (Club Trials) event on the upper end of the track. I would love to participate in another Level 2 event. Thanks for your leadership in a great program.

I'm not positive he checks the forums. You may want to email him instead (his email address is on the main website).

I also went looking to sign up and the form had already been removed. I interested in HPX style events and maybe more as I get experience. I do have a bolt on hard top for the car and will have a 5 or 6 point harness system installed shortly and a SA 2005 helmet. My car is currently classed in ASP.

I'm interested. Are sign ups for this event only available at CCR autocrosses?

Technically it wasn't a sign-up sheet, just a showing of interest sheet for what type of event you would participate in.

Thanks, I misunderstood.
Details will be available on the website when a decision is made, correct?

I'm interested as well but couldn't find the sheet at the auto-x. I'm up for any event that can be run without a rollbar. Thanks

As soon as the BOD provides a consensus, the CMP April 7,8th event will be posted. I am expecting to have more information the first of next week. Continental is probably going to provide items for the drivers. The combination event has the potential to be the premier Solo for CCR this season. The entry may be limited so keep an eye on the web site next week.

Brian, Will the regular TT entrants be notified when the CMP entry form is ready or should we keep checking back here? Thanks.

Stan, We are very close to posting the entry information on the Web Site. Tony and I are filling in a few details on the Supps and once we have the sanctions (about the end of this week), we will go online. The Solo will be the routine CCR Solo sign up. Also for the Track Trial we have some new Tuner Classes . Brian Gause

like jmiklas, what other types of racing can you do other than auto-x that doesn't require a roll cage?

You can't do any "racing" without a roll cage.
You can do track events that are not wheel-to-wheel without a cage. HPDE and Club Trails do not require cages. Some tracks have a track day, some clubs (Mustang, Porsche, BMW) do track days. You'd need to contact those specific clubs for details on their requirements.
Details on your car would help... an open car (Miata, S2000, Z3, Z4) require a roll bar.

Would love to attend this event but what's up with having it on Easter?

Any more info available?
Entry fee? Sunday details? PDX? Ability to participate in the Solo and TT?

No idea why it got scheduled Easter weekend...
I've gotten some details, but don't have the official release for everything.
Here's what I have (not official yet)...
The Solo is going to cost $50 for Saturday ONLY. TT will be $160 for the full weekend. Half course Saturday, full course Sunday. Yes, you can do both, of course you'd have to pay to enter both events. Sunday will be the TT only, full course. No PDX.
When I get the official sups I'll have them on the web site.

Back to the Easter question. Is it safe to assume that the schedulers realized that the TT was scheduled for Easter Sunday.
If not, is there any chance they may reschedule for a weekend the track is available?
I would imagine there are a bunch of us who would not be able to participate because of the bad timing associated with the event.

I've asked our RE for clarification on the date.

Its because we are going to put eggs out on the Solo course instead of cones.
I am not sure that when that date was originally considered (around November last year) it was realized that it was Easter. However, when the S.E. Division calendar was available and reviewed (January) there were very few dates available that did not conflict with something else. (TT's are divisional level events and all SE div regions dates have to be considered).
With the opportunity to have an event prior to the hillclimb at which people could get their TT license finalized and with the limited dates available, a decision was made to keep that date.
Personally, there's a date in June I would have rather used.
I am not sure if at this point a PDX on Sunday is totally out of the question. If there's a demnand, make a posting here.
Perhaps we should offer free entry to Rabbits....but that favors VW owners.

I have a printed copy of the sups, but no sanction number on them. When I get the electronic copy, with the sanction numbers, I'll put them on the web site.

Do the Saturday and Sunday events have separate sanction numbers? Meaning, would this count as two events for the purpose of a novice to full license upgrade?

I see the registration for the autocross portion of the Spring Fling, but what about the TT registration. Is that open yet?

Do the Saturday and Sunday events have separate sanction numbers? Meaning, would this count as two events for the purpose of a novice to full license upgrade? If you have other track experience (NASA, Porsche Club or Club Trials, PDX, etc) you can always ask the SE Div TT person for a waiver of the 2-event rule and they can decide whether to sign you off after one SCCA event. If you are considering doing this, its a good idea to talk to the Chief Steward of the event (or the TT Chief if he's there) at the start of the weekend. That way they can watch your on-track progress and be a reference. Of course, you don't want to screw up on track in that case.....
