I won't be running in CSP. I decided to pull one plug wire and run in BSP instead!!!! ;D Just teasing, I'm still planning on running in CSP. Looking forward to it! Once again, I'm just learning but I'm looking forward to a ringside seat for the WallyWillie Show! Take care.

Ted's IN as is Willie and myself which makes for a total of 7 pre-reg in CSP, nearly half of the pre-reg field. Should be a good shoot-out with the TVR trio of Mark G., John W8 and defending champ and CSP record holder Wally Lacey and the spoiler DaveG who has a score to settle. George Bowland is also in to raise the bar to new heights. C'mon CCR, if you're on the fence about this one I'll remind you that I'm toting some bling down there that TVR took at Eagle's Nest, let's return the favor.

I'm with Mark. If you don't come down to race, then come down to watch!!! Last night, I watched the DVD from last year's Crow Mountain hillclimb. Anyone who watches that would come for the following reasons... 1.) The course is really nice... wicked twitchy. 2.) The competition is fierce (especially in CSP) 3.) George WILL be leaving with yet another King of the Hill title 4.) you might.... just might mind you.... get to see Mark Seiler's pirate impression! That will "shiver your timbers, matey!"Arrrrgggggggghhhh ;D Predictions - I'm picking Willie for first in CSP... His car was made up to be quick and Willie was made up with out fear! Mark in 4th and me bringing up the rear... I'll have to fight really hard just to end up in last place!

I've got a score to settle with Wally after Little Talledega and maybe, just maybe, I can finally nip DaveG, I was ahead of him at Eagle's Nest until my clutch started to go...new one installed(hope it works) thanks to Ray & Blair for their help getting the tranny back in tonight, with any luck I can get it buttoned up by the weekend and start breaking it in...

Mark and Willie,
The dental appointment went well! Elvira's fangs are sharp enough that I think I can get within a few seconds of you guys now! Hopefully..
Good News - Things worked out with TJ and his high school where he can get out of school early and go with me! I thought I'd be soloing solo. Glad to be able to take him... he wants to be driving next year at Crow so learning this time can't do anything but help.
Bad News - TJ can't leave until 12:30 on Friday. With a 5 hour drive down, if we go like the wind, I'm hoping we can be there by 6! Tell them tech pirates we're coming and don't close down until we get there.
Look forward to seeing you down there.

That's what nice about Miatas...
all we need for repairs is duct tape and WD40... if it moves and it shouldn't DUCT TAPE. If it should move and it doesn't WD40.
Life is good... ;D

Ted, Willy and Mark, Good luck this weekend at Crow Mtn. Remember, keep the Miata's on the black/gray stuff. Willy, no gravel slinging! Ted, keep an eye on Mark, Mark watch Ted's alcohol intake! Wish I was going, but am leaving next weekend for a week at the runoff's. Richard Hunter www.huntersrun.photoreflect.com

Okay...we need some clarifications... 1.Willie will not sling in any gravel... there is no gravel, just drop offs !If Willie slides into the gravel this time, his car will be gravel. See video of past wrecks - video.google.com/videoplay?docid=2217587484630322094&q=crow I'm still picking Willie to win! 2. I always keep an eye on Mark...he's now the new and improved Mark 2.0 version due to lightening... not the thunder kind, he lost weight. 3. Do you want him to watch and measure the amount? Or make sure I don't imbibe too much? ;D Won't be a problem... I'm on a diet too unfortunately. I already have the body of a god...it just happens to be Buddha... Hey, would you rather have a 6 pack or a keg? It's just logical... We'll try to defend CCR honor down there. Richard, wish you were there to document the hillclimb for posterity. You really did a great job at Eagle's Nest. Thanks. Have a great time at Runoffs. Ted

Thanks for the well wishes. As far as the imbibing goes, it's good that Ted is bringing TJ, built in designated driver.

Great time had by all. George Bowland is King of the Hill with a new course record... that machine is just incredible. The more I look at the design work and material choices and R&D that went into it, the more I know, there will never be another quite like it. If George ever decides to sell it, he shouldn't give test drives because I think that would scare away most potential buyers. Great job designing and building that machine, George and Todd.. George, don't even think of slowing down! The biggest competition hands down was CSP...7 cars... how close was competion? Last year, the course record in CSP was 129. I ran a 130 yesterday and that was only good enough for 4th place! Willie cooked the course... unbelievable. Mark took third with Wally Lacey just barely squeaking past him for second place. The event was well run inspite of a few accidents... David Gladowski lost his second gen Miata into the wall on turn three... smashed the front end and airbag blew up into the windshield. (Note to self: unplug air bag before running hill climbs... air bag flap does more damage than an off course excursion does sometimes.) Prather lost his beautifully prepped MGB vintage racer into the trees. George lost a belt on the BBR and Willie lost air bead on a tire but neither had any problems. A few other minors but all and all safe and well run event. The course is wild... getting airborne going through off cambered esses and holding the pedal down on a long long blind sweeper takes some courage (or stupidity... but what a rush. Problems in racing have frequently resulted in solutions that carried on to our daily driver cars. It looks like hillclimbing has brought a new innovation... ;D ;D (Man... I sure hope George has a good sense of humor. I'd hate to see Elvira get bitten by a BBR Shark!) TVR ran a great event. Crow Mountain, the locals, the crowd, the courseworkers.... all made for a great weekend. If you are thinking about hill climbing this is a great one for your third or fourth event... not a good place to start though. Congrats to Willie and Mark... great job guys. Also thanks to Sue for her hospitality and lightening of Red by taking pounds off the driver. And Willie, I found out on my fastest run, you were right. If you go fast enough, you fly right over the esses with suspension botoming out twice. On my last run, I found out if you go too fast over the esses, you fly over the first and land on the start of the second... which begins a fish tail weave with you looking out your passenger window... I pulled it back in after 4 wags back and forth... and still ran a 131! there was more there but when the seat mounting popped loose, I decided my day was done. Already thinking about next year... and TJ is too! What a blast!!!! You guys .. and gals... you really have to try hill climbing. It is absolutely THE most fun you can have with your clothes on.. ;D

Great report, Ted. A bit of clafification, last year the winning time and new course record for CSP was 129.9 seconds, you came within a second of that on your first go 'round, you be a quick learner buddy and you beat Dave Glodowski and finished 19 of 44 in Raw, that rocks dude. If someone would have told me I'd beat last year's winning time by nearly a second and finish 3rd doing it I would have been ecstatic...but, Wally Lacey got me AGAIN on his last run. Willie was just awesome, he set a course record that won't be broken until he runs again .
