On ImprovedTouring.com, there is a thread that says that the region's RE has resigned and the event at Lowe's in June has been cancelled. Anyone know if this is true or not? Anyone have any REAL details? I'd hate to spread rumor and conjecture. Thanks. Scott Franklin www.NutDriver.orgIT7 and SPU

The following was posted under "General" topics:
April 4th, 2007
To the members of the Central Carolina Region SCCA:
At the end of our Monthly April meeting, Martin Bartlett resigned from the Board of Directors and his position as Regional Executive. Martin indicated his personal business commitments as the number one reason in his decision. Martin also indicated that he would continue as a CCR member and provide assistance with the transition.
The Board has thanked Martin Bartlett for his many years of service on board and as R.E. We the Board also want to wish him continued success with his business plans.
The Central Carolina Region Charter addresses the resignation of the RE, directing the Assistant Regional Executive to succeed to the office of Regional Executive for the remaining term. See Section 4, Vacancies.
I want to thank all of the Board members for the support following the Monthly Board meeting and look forward to another successful year.
Dick McCollister R.E. Central Carolina Region SCCA As far as cancellations - the AX event was cancelled and (according to the same thread) there are discussions underway with the SE Region regarding the club racing events.

Our SAARC rep is talking with the SEDiv and we'll make an official announcement when once the board hears back about the event.
The short story is that Steve talked with racers at SCR's event at CMP last week. Of the people he talked with, only 2 or 3 said they were planning on going to LMS. Based on the cost of renting LMS, it doesn't look good that the event will happen.
Please wait for an official announcement before spreading rumors on the event.

How many drivers did Steve talk to to gain the impression it was not likely that the Lowe's event would happen. Wouldn't a more formal canvassing be in order before cancelling an event. I know I've been loooking forward to doing the event.

The CCR BOD will be meeting Tuesday night and the Lowes event will be decided. We will be discussing any and all options to keep this race on the schedule. If you would support the race now is the time to email the BOD or post here with some real numbers. We want to give our members what they want if we can make it pay. This is reality folks.
