Doesn't it seem like poor scheduling to have back to back SARRC races at CMP. I emailed this directly to Martin, but it seems to be a subject that should be discussed among all. Both of these events are fairly lowly attended. Would it make more sense to put silly region rivalries aside and put on one quality combined SARRC race with SCR, rather than two below average events? Less work for the volunteers, more entries, more fun, bigger fields, and two regions within the same club working together in peace, what a novel idea! Does any of the region heads really think it matters to the racers which one these regions puts on this event and putting on one quality event for the racers (you know, the one's who money makes all this possible) matter to them? ?? Don't blame SCR for this, I know this will be the common response, but I seen more Resistance from CCR in joint effort than SCR, now mind you I am a CCR member. Time to do what is best for the racers and not burn out the workers and region heads to swallow their pride and stubbornness for a greater cause. Hap,
From my perspective, the short answer to what you say is 'Yes'.
My views on this are known to some. Basically, I don't think it is a good idea for either region. But my solution may not be the same as others!
It is being discussed.
Sincerely, Martin Bartlett. CCR R.E.

Well it sure would be nice to see these two regions bury the hatchet and work together for the sake of the workers and drivers.
While we're at it, if you lost one of these dates in consolidation of the two races, maybe that would be the perfect time to resurect the drivers school ( make it a single school rather than a super school) and combine it with a HPDE or solo2 event. Now that would be cool. The only problem I see with this idea is you still tax the workers with two close weekends. I guess with a HPDE and solo 2 combined event though it wouldn't take as many workers. Here's my thoughts on HPDEs, for every person who wants to drive a race car in a fender to fender race, there are a dozen more who just want to get on the track in a safer enviroment.

I agree with Martin that the answer is yes. That said we must also look out for what is financially best for CCR. We want to have the best racing possible and one large event is better than two so close together. How we do this is the sticking point.
