Ugh. So, um, can anyone reccomend a good autobody paint shop in charlotte. It won't be a big job, but I'd like for my car to look as good or better than it did this morning (not looking so hot right now. )

Doh! What happened??
I've heard good things about Hudson Brothers (think thats right) but they're slow. Several friends had work done by Wilburn and it looked decent.
Exlat to ya 'cause of the misfortune!

Carmel road near 51, turning left out of the post office, woman in a Honda Passport changed lanes and took the space I was going to drive into. I had to stay in the turn lane, where there was a girl who had stopped. I was able to slow down to about 3-5mph when I hit her, so the damage really isn't bad. Still, it pisses me off. I don't think I was driving unsafely, just got caught in a no win situation.

B&R Body Shop. On SBlvd across from AMC 22 movie theater.
Prices may be a bit high but they do some of the best work in the charlotte area.

Okay, the brother of one of my best friends from high school, who has come out to some of our events, works in a body shop. He will be picking up the car today (Sunday) and driving it to our home town (shelby) so that he can work on it. He will repair the damage and only charge the cost of materials. I've never seen his work, but I have great confidence in him. I only have liability insurance so I'm 100% responsible for paying, so this is a great break. I've got my fingers crossed.

She has returned! My buddy did a great job! The paint doesn't match perfectly, but it's pretty doggone close. I picked up a new parking light assembly this morning, and as soon as I gather the energy (its tough on days off work) to put it on, all will be well. Also, decided that since I was spending money like a drunken sailor, I would pony up and have ordered a set of Konig Heliums with ecsta MX, so I can stop wearing out my street tires, and maybe hit fewer cones.

I like the Helium. Good choice. Glad the car is back on one piece!

Yeah. It's still weird though. My car feels tainted. It's no longer pure and untouched. I'm sure this feeling will pass, but in the meantime, anytime I look at it, thats all I can think about. Is that wrong?

Yeah, because nothing is ever simple, ups delivered my wheels to the wrong address. The correct address was on the package, but that didn't stop the ups driver from leaving them on the front porch of a house almost 20 miles away. They have been collected, but no word on when the might actually get to me.
