Looking for a nice place to stay in the mountains while driving Blue Ridge Pkwy? Check out The NuWray Inn, Burnsville NC. Heritage and Hospitality since 1833. From Charlotte/Hickory/I-40, make sure you take Route 80 (from Marion) for some great twisty mountain driving. Burnsville is in Yancey County, 35 miles East of Asheville. It's a 'dry' county - so take along your own beer and wine. Call NuWray Inn at 800-368-9729, www.nuwrayinn.com

If you're heading up into Virginia Sue & I can recommend Pine Creek www.swva.net/pinecreekcabins/It's near the town of Floyd that has a neat eclectic restaurant for dinner(wine & beer plus live music most nights) and the Blue Ridge Cafe for b'fast(order the homefries, they're like thick potato chips ). Great weekend getaway. Mark
