When specc'd out to STU prep, yes, it gives me a better chance of winning than in any class my Z would go into. so trade the Z for a STi and have fun winning again I have fun being 2nd every time, Damn NFS mustangs!!!! Rob is my Nemesis!! but a great Guy Dave Well that Mustang shouldn't be competing in novice class on R compounds, but that's a different conversation.

CCR doesn't appear to have a restriction on the type of tires allowed in Novice, but I can't find the supplemental rules anymore. Since the ST classes can be in novice, there doesn't seem to be any restriction on a car fully prepared to the rules of the class running in novice.

I was also running in novice with Yoko A048's which are r comps. Granted they are more progressive in their breakaway and not as grippy as the Hoosier A6's on the cobra, but their aren't any rules against it in Novice

Novice class is a class for new drivers, doesnt really matter on car prep level.

I am more than Happy to have Rob as a compeditor in Novice running what ever tire he wants.
He is a very good driver even without the tires that is why he is in first place.

Also, restricting Novices to street tires gives the STx classes an unfair edge as NSTx drivers are allowed tires that push the limits of their class (and thus are factored into the PAX index), but the other classes aren't.
Don't get me wrong...I think novices should start themselves on 80,000 mile all-seasons as you learn much faster with lower traction limits, but I don't believe it should be a requirement as long as Novice is a PAX-based class.

Also, restricting Novices to street tires gives the STx classes an unfair edge as NSTx drivers are allowed tires that push the limits of their class (and thus are factored into the PAX index), but the other classes aren't. That's the reason that most regions with street tire only classes (for example SCR's Tire and Novice classes) typically do not allow cars to run with the ST indexes and use the correct SP index for that car.

Yup, I didn't make it yesterday. (Remember, I said I was 75% sure!) Sorry to the team, but I chose to be home with wifey this weekend, since she'll be going on a work trip, then immediately after she gets back, I'm being sent on a work trip. I preferred to spend the whole weekend at home (for once!), since we'd only see each other a total of 3 hours (12am-3am) over the next 2+ weeks....

I am taking some time off after this weekend. I have put over 3000 miles on the car in about 2 weeks.
November is going to be very busy!
