Everyone is fooled and AJ just fell over. Now that it's March 1, any chance we'll see the 2012 schedule soon? Other obligations are asking for commitments. Thanks!

That schedule looks great if the Zmax dates all get approved! Running Zmax before the DC Pro and the National Championships would be very helpful!

I'd love to see those extra ZMAX dates approved if at all possible. I know it might cost a little more to run there, but I don't have a problem with that at all. The extra space and smooth pavement are so nice. It also doesn't hurt that I only live 5 minutes away.... Thanks so much to everyone that's involved in securing the various sites and making our schedule!

Everybody says they love zMAX - now you gotta PROVE IT by registering early and often.

Wasnt 180 entries enough said? We had excellent February attendance last year also - It's the first big event in the Carolinas after all... Then the June event went down to the wire. Pre-registrations were weak. It ended up OK, but some people were nervous about the numbers. So, if we get 180 PRE-registered AGAIN for April 7, it's a strong case for more dates

Kuhn, we weren't thinking about DC event but very close. Warmup for shoot out in April and then Nationals in August. Those dates are imperative along with the site. Adam, we will see. Just think about this .... I'm expecting 240 participants in April.

Mike / All , One note on the 2012 Eurofest event. SCCA has had a great series of events at BMW Manufacturing during the Euro Auto Festival. Our contribution to the charity fund raising through managing the Performance Center events is significant and greatly appreciated. For several years, we have helped bring in more through those "Arrive n drive" events than any other single contributor. I have served on the Eurofest Board and committees for the last 4 years. It is a big undertaking and a staff of about 20 people meet monthly beginning the week after Eurofest to make it happen. BMW has been very gracious to let Eurofest use the plant grounds and facilities for the event weekend as well as our Solo event on Sundays. That said, BMW did remind us recently in our discussions that it is first and foremost, a manufacturing plant. That takes first priority and they have very solid goals to reach for this year. They have committed to let us hold 2012 Eurofest at the plant but ... it is possible the plant will still be running (not the usual shutdown). If that occurs, the need for employee parking space could mean we may not be able to use one of the lots for our solo event sunday. We will know in advance... (not last minute) based on production needs but it is a possibility. There is nothing we can do to lock in our solo site there now but we are still moving forward assuming we can get the back lot (our preferred location). I'll keep you posted! Thanks!

The ZMax numbers speak for themselves, we have done 140+ drivers since we started running there a few years ago. And now at $40 per driver, we will make money relatively easily. Their are no more excuses anymore. We just did 186 and that is with at least 2 dozen regulars I can think of that were not there for whatever reason, most likely having a car that is still in pieces. AJ you may be optimistic, but you are right and it is doable.
As for the Knight's request. A polite NO to that one.

We have a BOD meeting on March 6th, and we should have the schedule afterward once they approve running Zmax more than once. As for what we have and what I want: March 17th - Novice School March 18th Points #2 at Metrolina April 7th - Points #3 - ZMax -pending BOD approvalMay 28th - Points #4 at CMP June 16th - Points #5 at Black Lake w/ SCR July TBD - Points #6 - Looking to do Joint event with TriadAugust 11th - Points #7 - ZMax -pending BOD approvalSeptember 1st and 2nd - Points #8 - "the 24" at Dixie Classic October 21st - Points #9 at BMW - pending BOD getting Eurofest worked outNovember 10th - Points #10 - ZMax -pending BOD approvalthanks Mike... this at least lets me see how many events I can make ( depending, of course, on these becoming actual rather than tentative) assuming these go forward, looks like I'll probably make 7 more .... hope so .... thanks again ....

Josh is gonna be heartbroken! heck .... me too ... I like running at Knights ... just my opinion but I think it's a better site than Metrolina Metrolina is much safer, no curbs and minimal polls. I already tapped a curb at Knights with the front splitter of the CR. I just tapped it because of my cat like reflexes, but I could have easily taken off my entire front bumper. At Knight's you must break the 25 ft rule at least 3 times to get a course. And frankly 25 ft is a bit too short for my liking. When you only have 40 ft between poll and curb, you must break the 25 ft rule.

I'm ok with never seeing Knights again. I know it was a cheap site, but the curbs and numerous poles always made me nervous and hitting that cross over at speed felt like someone hitting the bottom of the car with a sledge hammer.

There is defiantly better sites than knights, but it's in my home town and I used to go watch years ago but this is my first year autocrossing and thought it'd be cool to run there. Oh well, sounds like I'm not missing much.

Knights was exciting, but maybe for the wrong reasons sometimes... like sliding sideways towards the timing trailer which was only a few feet away from a slalom finish. That said, I will miss it.
