So who is up for a beer after zmax? As I posted in the other thread, dinner and beer WILL occur after zMax. We've actually been doing it after all our events this year, though it's usually just me, Casino, AJ, and maybe Licursi. Travis Ball has suggested Quaker Steak & Lube right down the street, which I think will work well for us. What we need is a "Dinner Steward" that can inform everyone of the time and place throughout the day, get a head count, and go there a bit early while we're packing up and procure a table. Anyone stepping up to the plate on that one?

And there was actually a conversation on another forum (Steve, you may have read it) about "Pay someone to work for me" AutoX entry fees. They were toying with the concept of having a $100 or so entry fee (normally $40 or so) for anyone that wanted to sort of "opt out" of working at an event. The club would then recruit comeptitors willing to work an extra session, pay them from that, and call it a day. A lot of the discussion was on the "pain point" at which reasonable people would still opt to work instead of paying others to do it for them.
This would come in very handy from time to time if you absolutely had to do something that day and could be home at 1 rather than 6. You think about it, it could attract even a better turn out at times especially if I can make an event and be home early enough to do the things I needed to do vs. skipping the event entirely.
Pros and cons for sure.
Reminds me of first class vs. coach on a plane.

I am but the assistant to the dinner steward. Mr James Farris is the dinner steward! OK Mr. Assistant, at z-max get us a head count and phone a reservation. Thank you, Travis.

Done and done. The flying Saucer for our "last event " party. Thank you again Travis for getting a head count. As far as the timing trailer I am sure we can find a place ,unless Cassino is driving it, in which case he needs to pass go, And go directly home,LoL.

If my compensation is the bright smiles I see at every event, then YES I am paid quite well. Sorry you were mistaken. I hate how this stuff turns into money. I'm stopping there. Ted, true fact of skipping on work from road racers at an autox. The two boys know they were in the wrong, because every time I see them at a road race they hang their heads lol. You know their dad quite well Autox is all about enjoyment in abusing our cars once in a while in great company. The people are what makes it so much fun. Steve thank you for the kind words as always.
