I look forward to seeing everyone again this year...unfortunately will not be racing (at least the Corvette anyway). Instead in this first event I'm coming out to photograph.

Looks great. Going to study it hard. I'm going to really try to work on my line and being smooth this year.

Rick it'll be nice to see you again. I'm sure the CTS would be fun Very Dixie esk! The finish will be interesting on the slope.

Hmmm, after looking at the course, maybe I should be running the STC car. But then again, it always does seem to be a little more spread out when you actually see it in person. I always forget how big Zmax is.

Are the finish cones going to be 200ft long? Just curious to know what the 200 means, lol.
I've never ran at this lot and I'm looking forward to it!

I think Mike is just making sure that the finish line is at least 200 feet away from that fence. I've only seen one close call there; finishes can be pretty exciting sometimes, lol.

Especially in a supercharged S2000 on street tires?

I just had Mark fix my alignment from an "exciting moment" that happened last year.

Marcus, the site is HUGE. Ask Jeff, Lin, Johnnee, Walter, Darby, Barry Langley. The biggest key to zMax is it has grip, but you have to ignore all audible tire feedback. The sealer makes everything squeal well before the limit is reached. You will quickly see why it is believed this is one of the premier sites outside of nationals.

This is the one place where it's ok to keep pushing harder even if you hear squeals.

Anyone willing to have a co-driver for this event?

Anyone notice that the high on Saturday is only 41 degrees. Brrrr. Anyone driven on Hoosiers at near freezing temps? I have heard some people say that you are better off on a street tire than on Hoosiers at that temp. Anyone have experience with this?

They will be cold, still faster than street tires, but not anywhere near optimal temp. Zmax is also very easy on the tires so they won't heat up much, if any.

Will we be able to get a 2013 annual tech sticker on Saturday?

Quick question on a "modification" since the SCCA site's rulebook doesn't seem to working- I've got about 5lbs of sound deadening removed from my engine cover on a 986 Boxster (because noise, obviously). Will I need to put it back in place to stay in C stock? Also, are you guys ok with bright blue painter's tape on a black car for numbers? I promise it will be readable if you've ever correctly deciphered an LCD digital clock

I guess the cold temps are good since I'm still waiting on my ZII's to come, so will be running on all seasons... should be interesting either way.

But I won't contest it... of course, I'm not in C-Stock. And as long as it is the bright blue tape, it should be fine... just not the darker blue stuff. If you are worried about it, they do sell bright green painters tape (frog tape?) that I used on my black car. I've used the bright blue before and never had complaints, but the dark blue is hard to see at distance. Will we be able to get a 2013 annual tech sticker on Saturday? I highly doubt it. Last year, we had stickers available at the Novice School so the regulars could stop by and get inspected while helping out at the school. I will defer to AJ/Mike to see if those stickers will be available to do the same this year. So, RS-3's in 40 degree weather. Sounds like a slide-fest to me. Better brush up on my drifting technique before this weekend.

Sorry guys but I won't be here or at metro. This kinda ruined my season on points. I had to go to New Orleans La for work. Hope to be back in early march.

It's pretty obvious it's missing if you look behind the headrests, there is a piece of ugly black plastic rather than the carpet that's normally there, so I figured I'd ask. As for the painter's tape, I've seen SCCA regions get angsty about it so I wanted to double check.

As long as we can see your numbers/class from the timing trailer it shouldn't be a issue and at ZMax and Metrolina the timing trailer isn't that far away from start so we should be able to see it as long as it isn't the dark blue, the bright blue or green should be fine... their is even numbers and letters you can print out on paper and tape to your car from the website.

You and autocross are like a high school relationship. On again off again. You need to get your priorities straight. What's more important? Your job/paying bills/paying for your wedding or autocross???
