Events have been canceled before because of lightning, but I'm not sure what the rules are about snow.

The SCCA rulebook says it's up to the director, best I could find, and I didn't see anything CCR specific. I've done "aquacross" before, that was fun, "icecross" might be even better...I just don't want to show up and do "nocross" ;D

We have run in snow before... and we have in the past made them non-points events due to inclement weather conditions and subsequent low turn out as well. That is up to autocross directors.
In the past, snow chains were not allowed... dangerous if one breaks and gets slung into workers.. and dangerous to participant (because if they tear up our site asphalt and get us kicked out, we will do bodily harm to said participant.) ;D

Oh boy, I have a 50 degree rule and I really wanted the seat time before Dixie...but high HP rear wheel drive at a high of 39 degrees will not teach me anything but how to handle frustration and the also teach me the limits of my insurance policy. I'm out....sorry, I'll be back though...

THIS EVENT IS GOING TO GO ON AS SCHEDULED!!!!![/u][/size] It is a typical event calling for supposed ugly weather. The only thing that will stop us is lightening, snow thunder will cause a pause because of my amazement. It will be another FUN event. Come on out and enjoy yourselves. any proposed run order as of yet? No. Drivers meeting. Do you guys cancel under any circumstance? With ample heads up The SCCA rulebook says it's up to the director, best I could find, and I didn't see anything CCR specific. I've done "aquacross" before, that was fun, "icecross" might be even better...I just don't want to show up and do "nocross" ;D There is no mention of weather in the SCCA rulebook in any way, shape, form, or capacity. It is region by region, case by case. Can I run a dog sled in intermediate class? PLEASE DO!!!! We would have to call Dave Hardy to help us class it though. I believe he will require more information on modifications, and brew of choice, in the barrell.

If anyone has an OBDII Code reader can they please bring it with them. I'm in need of it. My car threw a CEL. Pretty sure it's from moisture getting onto the filter/MAF. Car runs normal, but I'm too paranoid to not know and do something about it.

Snow showers yet 36 degrees... I just don't understand?!? Snow is formed in the upper atmosphere, not as it falls to the ground. Snow can melt on the way down and change to rain, but rain can't change to snow.

Great fun! I uploaded a couple of my runs, first time I've really had a car lose the rear end easily like that. Also snagged this picture after eating at Sticky Fingers:

Guys and gals. THANK YOU to all that we're brave enough to come out tomorrow. I think we all had a lot of fun. Great event even for all the morning problems that no one really saw. The VERY Dixie like course was amazing and so much fun. Great way to open the year and definitely good preparation for the Match Tour.
Looking forward to a FANTASTIC 2013 season!

I need more pics of the rack on the BMW above. Thinking or doing something similar for my yakima rack. I can't really tell how the top bars that are parallel with the car are attached to the crossbars.

LOL - yeah.. We waited it out over a rack of Ribs at sticky fingers. Tad: Come see me at Metrolina next weekend and I'll explain what I did.. I made it a little more complicated than it needed to be.

Thanks to all that came out and braved the elements at "Ice Cross 2013" It was fun and very challenging getting through the course with mother nature kicking back.
Don't forget more seat time at Metrolina next week, for those that didn't get any driving in, and are in serious autocross withdrawal.

Thanks Eric. I will do that, but I might just make something before then. I need to make something just so I can get my other set of wheels and tires to Metrolina. I am very used to tying stuff on top of a car though. I have had at least 6 kayaks on top of my Forester before.

Had a blast out there, and I want to thank Walter again for letting me co-drive after my Miata decided to not let me buckle up lol. Track was amazing and hope we have one similar some time this year in the dry.
