Quick question on a "modification" since the SCCA site's rulebook doesn't seem to working- I've got about 5lbs of sound deadening removed from my engine cover on a 986 Boxster (because noise, obviously). Will I need to put it back in place to stay in C stock? Also, are you guys ok with bright blue painter's tape on a black car for numbers? I promise it will be readable if you've ever correctly deciphered an LCD digital clock Yes the material needs to be in for Stock eligibility. As long as the blue is easily seen from a few hundred feet away you are good. White would be best but green may work better than blue.

Question, if you don't make this event is there anyway to put the entry fee I prepaid towards another event? Yes Marcus. Just send me an email at soloreg@ccrscca.com if you don't come. You'll be upset you missed it though

Tad, as stated you can't go wrong with r comps. I think it's low 30s we don't see any gain.

Since it sounds like T-Ball is out for the next two weekends... who is up for freezing their phalanges off with me working waivers in the morning? James/Jeanie, you guys going to be there to get the ol' crew back together?

Sorry guys but I won't be here or at metro. This kinda ruined my season on points. I had to go to New Orleans La for work. Hope to be back in early march. T Psssst, just leave the Mini keys, I'll drive for you, they'll never know it's not you if I spin enough

Will "Run Groups" only be announced at Driver's Meeting, not posted early, like last season ?

Yeah, I will be on 9 year old Hoosier A6's that look like they have had 1 event on them. They will probably be hard as a rock, but it should be exciting. My Dad is now going to try and Co-drive with me. I figure that 60 years old still isn't too late to get into AutoX. I signed him up for Novice and I am in Intermediate. Anyway he can run in the same group as me?

Tim, I forgot to mention. I'm looking through the rule book on chains. As long as you don't have any wires showing, they may be good.
As of right now, run groups are more than likely going to be announced at the drivers meeting.

I already have the pax class run order figured out. Don't judge us for stepping up. You run the events and you can decide when you run.

Lol I'd be there too if I weren't deployed, I guess I should have run pro my 2nd season auto'xing huh? you've got a few years on me AJ. I know that's one of the benefits to running the show, you guys do a great job. The only thing I can do is read up on all the fun you guys are having so I've gotta throw my 2 cents in.

Back to possible snow showers on Saturday. I'm sure it will change again in 5 mins anyway.

Weather is looking ugly. Showing rain/snow showers until around 8 am then switching to just rain. I know my Toyo R1R's are good in the rain, but not sure what they would be like in slush. Toyo's website says they are ok down to 15 degrees so it shouldn't do damage. 1900 lbs on 245's doesn't exactly give a lot of contact pressure with the ground for getting traction through the slush for the drive up 485 to get there. Could switch and run Anna's FWD A3 instead. Turbo lag might make it interesting!

But it doesn't say when the rain/snow is suppose to hit... and considering the low Friday night/Saturday morning is only 34 I would imagine it won't be snowing much then.

As one who frequently works timing and has to read the numbers, I would go with the bright green painters tape instead of the blue. The light blue tape is ok, but some of the blue painters tape is darker and harder to see on a black car.

I had a couple of questions - first, is there decent gasoline and acceptable food somewhere near the event site? (e.g. someplace to grab a sandwich for lunch)?
Second, given the size of the entry list, is the target # of runs 3 or 4? (I know you'll have to see how many people show up, etc.)
third, is there any sort of accommodation for spectators / significant others (I'm guessing not, but my better half is coming with me, so I thought I'd ask)....
thanks, mina

The site is local to the speedway and a huge mall, so there are tons of gas stations and places to eat within 2 minutes of the site. Target run # is usually 4, but organizers make the call day-of based on all event variables. Not sure what exactly you mean by accommodations for spectators, but there is a nice balcony overlooking the course, running water bathrooms, and the mall nearby if they get bored, lol. Bring a folding chair for them (and maybe one for you).

It's hard to believe that the weather is going to be so nice today and then suddenly turn to crap tomorrow. Can those of us helping with course setup go ahead and get our runs in today? LOL!
