That was me. I caught it. BTW, has your car been lowered? There was a lot of that going on yesterday.. Lots of miss classing and or people signing up for classes they know they would win.. Like why would you put a 4 door nissan sentra in a str.. Shouldn't he of been in dsp or stc? And the truck.. stock my @$$.. but of well it was still fun Just saw this...nothing personal, just trying to save confusion for someone at registration. I will probably stop making comments on here... just trying to be helpful. But to answer your question, my car is a salvage car, 1/2 inch lower on front left fender, on the driver side (on it's 3rd left fender) and I run Koni's, which gave it some of their advertised drop. Again...nothing personal...

No point in deleting it, its been quoted 3 times Besides, it'll serve as a reminder on how not to make a first post. Great job with the course, it was a lot of fun! And good seeing everyone again, except you Joe. I'm gently shaking my fist in your general direction

Complaints about classes, should like someone may be volunteering to head up the Number Police. I was rocking some number policing yesterday morning. Happily only had to ask one or two to correct their numbering so that means its getting much much better. I'm not smart enough to know classing for anything but S2000's though, lol. I was also on loaner helmet patrol, I don't think we've had that many novices at an event! It might be one more thing to mention at the drivers meeting, that loaner helmets should be at the start line unless you are on-course. Lots of people tried to claim one and keep, which would have been fine but we had waaay more people needing loaners than we had loaner helmets! Great event as always. That tight section of the course in the back-left suuuuuucked... I wish I had about four more go's at it, this winter left my real rusty. See you guys next month, same time, same place.

I didn't seem to have a issue with the back-left in my (sorry Mike's) S2000... well not a issue that I know of....

There's nothing wrong with his attire, that alone isn't anything to bust his balls about.

I was working grid in the 4th group when the guy with the suit was running. He was in his car and ready to go every time he was up, and hopefully having fun out there. Couldn't care less what he was wearing and wish more people were like that.
The guy bitching about the truck, I'm assuming is the guy that got beat by the truck. Not sure if he is a novice or not since he was running open HS (based off of screen name and the registration list) but one thing you should learn quickly about this sport is never be surprised by what form of klunker, crap can, showroom stock, home built Frankenstein, Miata or even Tacoma you get beat by. Its going to happen. Often.

I think the misunderstanding with the truck came from some comments I made, so it's partially my fault. I wish you'd asked me to elaborate, or just come to talk to me in person to clear up any confusion, as I can understand your frustrations, we've all been there. As far as tires, I'm running stock size (255/45-18) Continental DWs (you can clearly see them in this picture and verify tread pattern if need be...) I snapped this while I was in grid, so I don't know if there's further proof I can provide about the tires I was running day of the event: i.imgur.com/qoSZqU9.jpgI'd be happy to go out and take pictures of anything else you think might put me out of class, it's all bone stock tacoma X-Runner parts, the only things I've added are a hitch and bike rack. Here's pictures of the engine bay, no fancy intake, no lightweight battery, no headers, no supercharger i.imgur.com/0AJThrs.jpgi.imgur.com/EoWPsbb.jpgHere's the rear suspension: i.imgur.com/QpCny5Q.jpgFront Suspension (factory bilstein dampers) i.imgur.com/WtdGpp3.jpgAs far the the classification rules are concerned, I looked for the specific class for the Tacoma, and it's not specifically classed - Searching for Tacoma anywhere in the rules document - i.imgur.com/C6Vs2Q5.pngi.imgur.com/Qj4Ieji.pngi.imgur.com/rU33714.pngFortunately, the rules have catch alls to handle cars that are not otherwise classified. They aren't allowed at national competition, but are allowed at regional events. i.imgur.com/Z0jirAK.pngSo I start at SS and look for a catch all for the pickup - i.imgur.com/5n1Qvm0.pngNo catch alls are defined for Super Street, so we proceed down the next few classes... A Street: i.imgur.com/lpt4cAm.pngB Street: i.imgur.com/MlWFa8B.png(I didn't take screencaps of the next few classes because they also had no catch alls in them, feel free to verify yourself.) The first catch all I found was in F Street: i.imgur.com/HlE4Yc9.pngMy truck is a V-6, not a V-8, so lets keep looking. i.imgur.com/DfEMPI1.pngThere it is. H Street. I hope this clears up any confusion. Please feel free to reach out to me via forum message if there's anything you're still suspicious of, or thinking would put me out of class. I'm not trying to cheat just so I can get a trophy. I want to be totally open and transparent, so if you're still feeling like you got robbed, please explain why and I will do my best to clarify.

Great job with the course, it was a lot of fun! And good seeing everyone again, except you Joe. I'm gently shaking my fist in your general direction Ha, ha! It definitely feels good to get a win against you and a solid class of STX drivers. With that said, I'm not going to get too excited as I know you're still adjusting to FWD and could definitely stand to upgrade the tires. Will Guy has some good tires/wheels waiting in the wings, Clyde will be back once his shoulder is healed, and Steve Darcy will be joining the fray if he can get his weekend schedules worked out. STX is going to be a blast!

That cheater truck is so dominant that it took the 23rd and final trophy spot out of 33 drivers in the Street PAX class. I recommend to anyone that lost to Kurt's overdog Tacoma to take the Evo School at Metrolina Expo on March 29th & 30th. Evo School Thread

GREAT TIME YESTERDAY!!! That course WAS FUN!!!!
Quick suggestion on the numbering. Why don't we hand out a one page instruction on class numbering when they sign their waiver to get in. Letters should look like this should be this size etc. Just ask when they sign the waiver if they are using tape and hand them the sheet. We'll always have a decent amount of first timers and I am sure they would appreciate the help.

Here are the Torque Monsters best runs of the day. It was a heavy load on Honda's finest creation, with a newb in Cyndi and Dr. Jon "Conevorkian" Wannagoo behind the wheel as well as myself. But as usual the Torque Monster was up to the task and fast.
Here is Dr. Conevorkian's 77.673
Cyndi's 84.622 (BTW - faster than Travis Ball in both RAW and PAX)
My 75.997

Butt hurt losing to truck jäger. Oh well. Sorry the operator is a darn good driver! Enough said. Taking the win on performance ALL seasons at that haha. Kudos Kurt. A sentra in STR is odd. We did drop the ball on number police. I kept our chief up late all week, so certainly the old man needed rest along with catching up on family time. I'll try to lend a hand on that matter. Also, having car classing appendix print outs, yes plural, available at registration and for other key roles might be a good idea. I think I forgot to give this suggestion prior. HOWEVER remember it is the responsibility of the competitors to correctly class and police this matter. Marcus, great family write up. Keep coming out. I saw the smile on dads face. Priceless! Maybe I need to help Walter more Jack Brinkley, you were not in the wrong and apologizing to the wrong person haha. You were right in saying something and Bill caught it. GREAT to see everyone!! Pro was NUTS! Glad to announce for you guys again. Not ideal circumstances, but I tried the best I could to keep you all informed. The course was MUCH better on pavement than paper. The tight section was TIGHT but teaches discipline. Think back to when everyone used to complain about all zMax courses being road courses. We suggested having the mix of really tight and technical along with fast and free flowing. We got that this time! Yet we still whine haha. Keep up the good work Mike! Applications for national course designer are due this week hint hint wink wink

Couple of congrats ....
CYNDI damn!! Way to go girl! Learned how to drive manual over the offseason and did GREAT in first event in Torquemonster. Keep it up!
Clark Doggett highest paxing non pro driver, kudos sir. You need to account for those of us needing to run open.
Joe Price, technically your fastest Street Touring. Not a shabby time at all. A couple tweaks and learning the new car, you'll do great. Glad to hear STX is going to be highly attended and competitive in our region. Following the nationals trend.

Thanks I know I was scared and worried and I still L gotta a lot to learn on a manual... But that car is a blast to drive...and easier then I thought if I could grow a few inches that would help.... Otherwise I hope to improve more... Learning to go into 3rd might have helped

I didn't have times during my run group either... I was in group 4 just a sayin....I just drove the best I could on every run and took 4 - 2 seconds off on every one... as for times when the board wasn't working I walked over to the computer and looked at them... as for the tv we did not have time to get it hooked up and with it calling for a slight chance of sleet and wind not hooking that up

Thanks Andy, I owe alot of it to Mike's car... i don't know how that thing is setup but its awesome.... his great teaching and instruction has also helped me so I owe it all to him. I know there is still stuff to learn.... like I stab at the gas pedal to abruptly.. but that'll come in time... that car is a blast to drive and I'm glad I get to this year so thanks Mike.
