This is a good opportunity to learn timing too. Since we only actually enter cars when they declare an official run, it's a chance to see how AXware works and get some hands on experience in a less "stressful" situation than our normal events where you're trying to mentally manage 3-4 cars and their calls on course at once.

I'm planning to attend the first 12 hours and most of the 2nd 12 hours (gotta leave before 9:00 PM on Saturday evening). I'll arrive early on Friday and will be happy to assist with anything you guys need. I can help with setup, worker check-ins, and would be happy to assist with timing. Steven, you showed me a little bit about timing last year, but I've already forgotten most of it so a refresher would be nice. My wife (Erin) will be hanging out with me as well, so we could put her to work too! I'm gonna try to convince her to drive, but she's still pretty nervous about driving a manual transmission.

My first time driving was at the 24 this will be my 2 year anniversary... and also my first time at a manual transmission Amy managed to teach me ... then I threw it out the window... so she can do it.... we need more women drivers, even some more women women registration/timing workers is always helpful

What exactly is involved in each, timing and audit? I'll commit to a shift of one of them during the second 12. I've been learning timing with Highlands and have run about 4-5 shifts entering cars and penalties.

I've been learning timing with Highlands and have run about 4-5 shifts entering cars and penalties. Jake Boss 302 For timing at "The 24" you need to handle everything: Entering car class and number into the computer on official runs Handle radio calls Writing down car class and number, times and penalties on audit sheets Keeping axware running properly. This is doable at "The 24" since we only audit and call penalties on cars that have declared an official run. If you are semi familiar with timing we could use you during the less busy times. Where you pretty much just monitor the system and make sure timing is running properly. We get very few official runs declared from say midnight to 6am. I'll help with registration, timing, workers, and the usual random thing that pops up. I know. We'll put you where we need you later. Let's see where that may be, and what work shifts we are short on filling.

I can use you for checking in workers that have already signed up. Which will be for maybe 15-20 minutes before each shift from 11 PM to 7 AM and 11 AM to 7 PM. Would you take care of both check-in shifts? This will not leave you any time to take a nap. Or could you take 1 worker check-in shift and something else? Let me know

Let me know I was planning to step away for at least a few hours to get a bit of sleep, probably well after eleven, and back by 5 or 6am. I can do the Saturday worker check-in for sure.
