obviously black shirts are not mandatory... the black background just contrasted nicely with most of the ideas I had. Colors can be inverted etc.

Great work! I like all the ideas, but especially the first one. Simple. No problem with black shirts, would make us either look like tough bikers or hairdressers; I guess the pants would be the deciding factor My only issue some of the above would be that the font looks somewhat "Ricey" But that's just a personal issue. If Chris wants to narrow our choices (especially to just one), I think we are ready to make a decision. Brad

cool, glad you like some of the ideas. I see what you mean about the font, Brad. That can be changed pretty easily if need be. just let me know (if you like an idea but want different font, etc.)

Maybe in July we might want a white shirt with black writing. Make sense?

We have a winner! Unless anyone has any objections, I'm making an executive decision to inverse the black and white so we don't cook come July! I will work with Aimee on coming up with a finalized version of the logo. Now the big questions, who can get these made? Any volunteers!

It turns out that I have Continuing Ed the next two weekends, so I can't make the Conti. event. Lance, do you want me to mail you my $10., or can I get it to you at the next event? Thanks, and sorry. Brad

OK, here is the scoop. The official amount is $10. You can get it to me at the next event that you attend (doesn't have to be this weekend). I also need to know who is planning on attending the event this weekend.
Has anyone heard from Aimee lately? I haven't heard from here in 3 or 4 days now.

Sorry about that! I wasn't trying to disappear. Good news and sad news... Good news = I finished the changing of the logo. Sad news = I can't make it to the race this Sunday ! I'm really gonna miss you guys! I was looking forward to meeting the rest of us. I hope I can make the next one...

We were short two people initially at Sunday's autocross, but we were able to pick up two more drivers so we made our minimum of 5. Bob with the red Lotus Elise and Jon with his MG joined us. I want to thank Joe, Jack, Jon, and Bob for being there on Sunday. We had a really good time besides the 30 minute drenching right in the middle of run group 2.
Pax was all screwed up in the computer so it will take a few days before it all gets sorted out and we figure out how we did. There were 5 teams at this event and all 5 teams managed to get at least 5 drivers so it was a really good start to the team competition. We still have 2 slots open on our team if you are able to recruit anyone, just make sure that they are going to be able to attend the majority of the events (and make sure they are fast! J/K)! ;D

That's great! 5 teams is a lot more than I expected. This is going to be a fun competition . Sorry again that I couldn't make it. Honestly I probably could have gotten more work done if I had come to the autocross! (lol yeah , go figure!) Instead ended up being in rehearsals from 1:30-9 pm. Lol, oh well! Maybe I can be at the next event!

Just a question - do I have to be a CCR member to be on Team Europe? I'll probably become a member soon anyway. Just wondering.

I think so, but I'll ask Steve to be sure.

I heard back from Steve and officially the rules do not state that you have to be a member of SCCA to compete in the team competition. However it would be much appreciated if you were. Either way it is your choice. It is usually $10 cheaper per an event if you are a member, so if you are planning on running several autocross's in a given year, it generally pays for itself.

Really it doesn't pay off though. if you pay $80 to be a SCCA and CCR member that $10 you save an event just adds up in that. I'm not saying don't be a member, but really it evens itself out, but in the end helps pay for the awards for the events and everything else.
Sorry I've dropped off the site for a bit as well. My GTi is still dead. I bought an 87 Cabbie that has for 4 year. Got it running the day after I got it but it's still mixing coolant and oil. So I get to rebuild the motor again. I really hope to be at Event #3! I will let everyone know.
Also with the shirts. why not just get a pack of transfer paper at walmart like under $10 and print off the shirts that way. So your not paying $10 a shirt to have it screen printed or anything?

True... but you also get better hotel rates with the "choice hotel group"... sometimes MORE than a $10 discount per night over their internet rates. ;D

Don't forget that there are 9 points and 2 non points events (CMP and the upcoming charity event), so if you attend all 11 you save $30. It's important to note that you can only qualify for a season trophy if you are a CCR member. You also get a pretty cool magazine from SCCA every month. Lastly, as you already mentioned, is the satisfaction knowing that you are helping both SCCA and CCR continue to be viable organizations.

yeah I know, but most don't attend all of the events. i know I wouldn't benifit from the membership yet and said why. Not trying to say dont get one. I think people should. As for hotels I don't do hotels for events because most are within an hour or so to drive. I'm still just in it for fun right now, i dont have a car prepared to compete in anything, heck right now I don't even have a running/reliable car.

Good luck with your cars! I wish I knew how to rebuild an engine. I'm pretty comfortable doing everything else on the car, but I have never tinkered with the inside of an engine or tranny. I hope to see you at the next event!

Yes, good luck!
I might mention about the membership thing... eventually if you ever get it or think you're ready to be that involved, one nice perk is you can go to road races and work different positions and see the racing really up close. I find it about as exciting as driving in autocrosses, actually! (Was kinda surprised about that.) I know SCCA people who have gotten national level licenses and therefore were able to work professional races...stuff like F1, Indy, GranPrix etc.

Congratulations to bobselise on being so fast at the last event! Unbelievable, Bob, for as few events as you've run. Sorry I missed the first "team" event. I should make the next one. I finally found a brake booster for my Rabbit. Mine's an oddball. I looked at more than 50 Rabbit parts cars before finding the right donor in a field in Goshen, near Wilkesboro. Having brakes should make the car much faster at autocross; I was practically coasting into corners at the last Knights event. Also, I found my alignment to be a little off..., 5/8" of toe-in is not quite ideal. Oh well. Now I will have no excuse for being slow, but I hope I won't need one. I will see you all at Round #3, but I will be in Cali during Round #4. Brad White Rabbit

Ok, we need a role call for who is going to Event #3 this weekend at Continental.
So far I have:
1. Chris Ross 2. Aimee Fincher (Have you registered? I didn't see it on MyAutoEvents.) 3. Jack McGahey 4. Greg
We need at least one more!
