We did NOT make last place.
Good job everyone!!!!
I can't wait 'till next year.
But let's have Team members who come to most of the events.
The No-Shows hurt us, they should be ashamed of themselvs. Joining a team, then not come to another event. I mean, if you say you're gonna do something, DO IT! Don't make the rest of us hold your bag.

Monkfish is a bit more rubbery and less buttery-flavored. But also doesn't cost $40/lb.
Would it have been better if I had said "Sweet swimming mongooses," or maybe "son of a flying turpentine?"
Stupid Hollywood writers strike, TVs been missing gems like these for too long!

Yeah.

Now THIS is a Team Beer discussion! Personally, I don't think it's possible to beat a good thick slice of sashimi-grade tuna, still raw in the middle, grilled with maybe a nice Wasabi-butter glaze on a bed of lemon-essence and truffle risotto......mmmmm.
Or course, the 'proper' TEAM BEER response probably should have been that I LOVE SNAPPER! But I wouldn't want to offend anyone.

Some time back I was at a neighborhood fish fry, and someone brought some crappie... I had never any before.. maybe it was the beer... but I've never had any fish that I liked better

Crappie and Bluegill are great eating and very easy to avoid the bones. But having grown up on a Trout farm I am sorta partial to them, OK everyone, Yes they are hard to herd into the truck

Crappie is some of the best pan fish around. And YES, a beer batter coating makes them even better!!
We have some of the best Crappie lakes in the country right down in SC. We should make a "cannonball" event, start at Braves....run out to Santee-Cooper, catch 3 fish, and bring them back to Braves for a fish fry!!!
Wouldn't THAT be a hoot!!!

speaking of boats... the other day I was driving to Alabama and I saw a sea fishing boat (I guess that's what it was)... with three 250 hp engines on the back. Whee! Hehehe.

Aimee, if you could show up to more events next year, I would like to be the first to nominate you as an official Team Beer member next season. Seriously, how many other women jumped into our SNAPPER conversation??
(Plus, we could probably use another ringer or two!)

I always wondered about that on the "farm raised catfish" too.

Nope. To be in Team Beer one must:
1) Enjoy good camaraderie and having fun at auto-xes regardless of whether or not you are actually fast. For some of us, a few alcoholic beverages helps us have a little more camaraderie (away from auto-x events, of course).
2) You can't worry about whether or not your car looks good. That's fine if it does, but it's not a requirement.
3) You must be willing to jump on a grenade for a teammate. Not the actual kind, but a grenade as distracting the ugly friend of a hottie you wanna get with at a bar. Most of us are married anyways, so we make good wingmen (or women).
4) You must raise your post count by discussing things such as Snapper and Pale Ale and not so much things like tire pressure and what class to run in to optimize your team's points at an upcoming event.
5) You must enjoy pictures of Celtic Women. It's ok if you just respect them for their musicality.
Any I left off Mr. Findlan?

I'm apprehensive , ok , my favorite fish is , blow fish. They only ran past my old Island once a year. And then, only for a week or 3. Sometimes I dream of lightly battered blow fish, sauteed in butter, wine, & garlic. Then there are the endangered Peconic Bay scallops, I used to dig 'em up & eat 'em on the spot. (over 40 years ago)

I will NOT defect to the Team formally known as Dark Horse. They tried to get me, & Walter, but I love yous guys, I love them too. And Walter's stickin' with us. I think they got soloracer & JByrd & the chunk, their ring leader is Philip1. I wonder which way David roadboy will go?
I'm still stuffed from Turkey Day, a little buzzed too.

Peepoles should go where they wanna go. JB in a team??? interesting - he wasn't in favor of that a year ago. It will be fun to see who goes where or what happens next with the teams. But it was most gratifying to see Team Beer NOT finish last when you consider the team was tossed together with no effort to pick the best drivers, cars, PAX, classes, etc. We just went out and had fun and did alright doing it. I want to thank all of you on team beer for the good times this year.
GO TEAM BEER!!!!

OK - since we have the most posts, it seems that Team Beer won!! Whoo hoo!!! But - it has been my distinct pleasure to me the captain of Team Beer. Now - where do we go from here?
Who on the current Roster would like to continue with this dysFUNctional team?
Here is the current list ~
1. ABNormal (E/P) - aka Colin F 2. LagunaMiata (STS2) - Rich L 3. NitroC5 (SM2) - Rick B 4. Walter Jones 5. Slobra (FS) 6. Mrs Vlad (Ladies) - Jeannie M 7. SoloRacer (C/P) - James F 8. WesternAuto17 (E/M) 9. Bill Baker DS 58 10.Bogner - CSP- Derek May and Keg-r-ator (Whoo-Hoo)! 11. Bill Crummett...Prancing Dawg Racing...TCS 12. CaSSino, C/P - Mike C (SS IMPALA)
Now, James rolled off partway through the season and we had an alternate - Kurt Davidson. Westernauto17 (S. Broadfield) was a no show at all events = so I don't think he will be with us this year either.
So - I hope everyone else returns to the team. James - are you staying on Team Beer to have fun or are you going to get serious and go to Team Black Nag? ;D
