The TT SHOULD have the Koni's, sway bar, and wider tires by then, so it will be a fun test n tune. AJ, may need your help with setup on the shocks and all that. You may be the smartest guy in CCR, using the school to tune your car. And with feedback from people who may know a thing or 2 about set-ups. It is a novice school for some, but doesn't have to be for everyone else. It is seat time, and everyone needs that. We run cars while the classroom is in session, so anyone that doesn't need the classroom can drive more.

Hey Mike, thanks for making the clarification that sophomores (like me) and up can still participate in the Novice school. I'll definitely be registering for some extra seat time and would still welcome feedback from any of you guys that aren't tied down with other first-timers.

We never said anything about this being for first timers only I've used schools to tune setups before and look for additional driving advice. We have a talented list of instructors, take advantage of the time to learn more.

Hey guys! I just signed up for the novice school and this will be my first racing event ever. I'm not an SCCA member, but if I have the cash I'm hoping to sign up that day. I don't have anything special (in fact it's kinna boring), just a '12 Civic LX sedan, but I'm still looking forward to honing my driving skills!

Annual Memberships will not be done at the school, but they will be taken at the points event on Sunday. First time Annual Memberships include the event in which you file on site.

Signed up as a student to get more seat time with the new r-comps. Not 100% sure that work will let me have the days off yet.

I'll be attending as well, trying to avoid the sophomore slump if possible.

When I go to this event, or any autocross event, do I swap my wheels before the 8am registration? or immediately after?

New member here- relocated from San Diego Region. I've signed up as a non-Instructor volunteer; I hope that's all right for a newcomer (new to region, not to autox).

I'll be there volunteering as well; looking forward to meeting a new S2000 member! (Think I remember seeing your username on S2Ki) Are you signed up for our zMax event this weekend and the Sunday event following the novice school?

When I go to this event, or any autocross event, do I swap my wheels before the 8am registration? or immediately after? You can do either, all I'm doing at registration is signing you in as there and collecting money and verifying your information. You can switch your tires before or after whichever is convenient for you.

Ok another question,
With the forecast showing cold temps for that day, should I even switch to my autocross tires? I've got a new set of R-s3's but I don't see them gripping well with the low of 35 and high of 53 for that day

Up to you... I'll be on my RS-3's. I still don't think that my Hankook V-12's will be any better. But I'm positive the Direzza guys will be much better off.

I wish that the zII 285/30 would have been available before the start of the season. I got the 285/35 hankooks because the zII's wouldn't be available until after march.

Random question: Can we run without numbers / letters during the school portion like last year?

I'll be there to hang out/instruct if needed. Looking forward to it after missing today because of the weather this morning in Boone!

Random question: Can we run without numbers / letters during the school portion like last year? Correct! Ingram, I completely understand Triad and ETR folks not coming. That drive to and from would have been treacherous. I'm glad yall were smart and stayed warm with alcohol at home. Be glad to have your help Saturday

I had the same problem living just west of Asheville @ 3500 ft, woke up at 5am to 3 inches of snow but gotta admitt it was hard explaining to the neighbors out sled ridding why the Sky was trailered up with the brand new BFG R comps setting in the snow. One lady told me I could have driven down ok if i just had some tread on those big tires 1 LOL

Also, if anyone wants a nice calm time to learn to run timing, Saturday will be a perfect opportunity. Let me know and I'll be glad to show you the ropes.

>CCR timing trailer >Calm Does not compute. Novice school is calm because all we have to do is make sure the scoreboard stays up Learning to enter cars is just icing on the cake. There will PROBABLY be less dirty jokes than there were yesterday, too
