Then Instructors will give ride alongs to students in their own cars. It is strongly encouraged that students allow instructors to drive their car. This is a great learning tool for both the student and instructor. Students can see what the instructor is trying to tell them to do and show them what the car can do. CostAll entries - $50 Lunch WILL NOT be included, but there will be time alotted for it. There are a number of places close by to go. Join SCCA at the school and get your NEXT autocross free! Event Location Metrolina Tradeshow Expo 7100 Statesville Rd Charlotte, NC 28269 www.metrolinatradeshowexpo.com/Driving Directions I-77, exit 16-A. Follow Sunset Rd east toward Statesville Rd. Turn left onto Statesville Rd. Metrolina Expo will be just under one mile, on your right. Online Registration Closes 22-Feb-2013 6:00 PM EST If you plan to help with the event, please register so we are aware of how much help we will have. There is no fee. Instructors will have time to learn the course in their own cars during the classroom session, free lunch, and hopefully additional runs at the end of the day for student ride alongs. Thank you in advance.

Hey AJ, I don't think there is a student pay-on-site option for registration. Not sure if prepay is required here or if it was just left out accidentally.
I'll be there helping out where I can AND to support two novices that I have convinced to come! One will be in a Mach 1 Mustang... was trying to think of the best instructor for him.

Yea Andy. I did mess that up. I do encourage everyone to utilize pre pay tho. With the refined registration processes, pre reg and pre pay participants get thru check in very quickly.
There are a couple mustangs that will be present I'm told. I miss them a little, so I'm willing to jump in. We do have a talented staff that can handle just about every vehicle. No worries.

Oh cool! That's my car on the event flier! I'm so honored!
You know what's funny? That exact picture was my favorite picture that Tony took of my car all year and has remained as my computer desktop background since this summer.

no offense joe The guy that designed the flier likes the 3rd place participant better than the champion. Or there was a better picture available. You figure out which one it is.

I speak heavy car, low power, medium power, fwd, RWD, awd, and at one time high power but that was a decade ago.
Oh and Travis everyone has seen a mini they are cute and all but the frs/brz is new and exotic. Remember we are attracting first timers and novices. You aren't a novice anymore.

I just joined the boards and signed up for this Novice event. My co-worker Andy recommended it for a first timer like me.
I've ridden a few local tracks like CMP and Road Atlanta but never in a cage. I'm really looking forward to this, meeting cool folks, and learning how to drive my car better.

I'll be at novice school. My name is Mark, I'm a new SCCA member, and I haven't participated in any kind of performance driving or racing activities before of any kind. I'll be bringing a bone stock (but recently serviced) 1998 Acura Integra LS 2-door with stock all-seasons. The car is even an automatic. Greetings.

Hey stranger, that screen name looks familiar! So did you say you are coming to zMax next weekend? I signed up for it but it turns out I can't go to that one. So I'll focus on making it to the Novice School event, then I'll try to make the next regular meet.

Well the next regular meet is literally the day after the novice school at the same exact place. No better time to do your first event than right after the school!

Hi my name is Chris, I found out about you guys from my local club, TSCC. I am very green and this is my first season competing in autocross. I have only been to a couple of events several years ago, but I am going at it full blast this year.
I'm interested in your novice day... I will be visiting Charlotte that weekend to see my family. I'm going to talk to them and see if i can squeeze this into the visit. I would like to go to your novice school so that I can learn some basics before our club's season starts. Hope to see you guys there!

The TT SHOULD have the Koni's, sway bar, and wider tires by then, so it will be a fun test n tune. AJ, may need your help with setup on the shocks and all that.

You know I'm all for driving anything fun. Be nice to see how the car is with the changes. I think my biggest struggle with the car was not shifting which I still did lol
