How about this team, Pro, we are in different classes in the class, so it should be Per, Steve Rob, Don, Jeff, Jinx. that would be the core. thanks Rob Isn't a Pro.....a Pro...no matter what he or she is driving? So that wouldn't meet the 5 seperate class rule. Same goes for Ladies or Novice or Tire......so I would assume. |

How about this team, Pro, we are in different classes in the class, so it should be Per, Steve Rob, Don, Jeff, Jinx. that would be the core. thanks Rob I don't think that will work because of two reasons, first, based on last season's pax times, a "pro" team would be virtually guaranteed to win, you guys are damn fast, lol. Second, a few Pro drivers might want to join other teams, e.g. Michael Bright for Team Nissan. In that sense, Pro should be treated as any other class, but not a team. Just my 2 cents, not sure how everyone else feels though. |

Steve, glad to hear that you and Tony are interested and considering it. Were you join up..and bring your friend Brian, that'd put us at the minimum requirement...with 6 classes.
Of course....would anyone be willing to challenge us? The Subarus perhaps?

Just for reference, I looked at the last points event (#9 on 11/11/06) and tallied up all the manufacturers. I counted up all the drivers with times (so keep in mind that there are some multi driver cars).
40 - Mazda
19 - Subaru
17 - Nissan
10 - Honda
9 -- Chevy
6 -- Acura
6 -- Mini
5 -- BMW
5 -- Ford
5 -- Porsche
5 -- Triumph
4 -- VW
2 -- Pontiac
2 -- Saturn
2 -- Toyota
1 -- Audi
1 -- Dodge
1 -- Kia
1 -- Lexus
1 -- MG
1 -- Volvo
Please use this list with a grain of salt, a lot drivers don't run all season, and participation does vary by event. It also reinforces the fact that we can't just base teams on manufacturers, there are many great drivers in manufacturers that are not out in great numbers.

So...given the numbers we should be able to put together at least a Miata Team, Scooby Team, a Nissan/Infiniti Team, Honda/Acura Team, GM Team, and I guess maybe a Ford+Umbrella Cars Team.

I'd be happy to participate. Unfortunately, I'm not gonna be able to make all the events. My younger brother Bryan should be at most of the events. He drives the silver Celica GT in STS. Isn't there a yellow MR2 spyder as well....? We could almost get 5 toyotas at most of the events. |

Ok...so a Furd team is possible.....and since this isn't intended to be a manufacturers competition - you can have a mix of cars - So, i would add the Loti that are Furd Powered....Aston Martins are Furds.....anyone got a Furd GT they want to bring out to play???

That's what i'm talkin' about. Go back and read the original post that LM made, and then take a look at where it has gone.
It's the same thread we had last year.
This idea has lost control. Team concept is interesting, but somehow this thread is the manufacturers cup revisited.

Who is going to compete with them? Maybe you could put together a team with Michael B., Oppidisano, Justin B., Tony H., Jim F, Scott S.....maybe the Teglers. etc...and give them a run for the money, but all the Nissans and Ford or BMW variants in China couldn't do anything else but hope for third place. The idea works in NCR where they don't have that many serious competitiors, but try it here and see what happens. Besides.......we're less than 2 weeks away from the start of the season, and as far as I can tell we haven't even formed one team yet.....let alone decided on a final format for the scoring, who is going to keep score, etc. |
