Holy cr@p, I won!! Did not think that was going to happen.
Question... Once you win in novice class do you now register for your regular run group and leave novice?

CCR runs Novice as a season-long class with a year-end championship. You CAN move out to open/intermediate/pro, or you can keep running in Novice this year and try for a season championship.

I had a great time at this event. My first time on R-Comps and it felt great!
The drainage ditch going to the kink though...I now have cracked paint on my rear quarters. Video shows my front fenders warping as well. haha. I would have had better times if I had just bit the bullet and hammered thru but still a second place I'll take. If I keep up with the paint cracking, it'll soon be livery time, who wants to help? haha
Looking forward to the next event though!

I hear you. I still only have Zmax pix from that rain / sleet fest in February. Looking forward to some pix of a dry zmax event.

Ok, cool deal. Nice pictures! I weren't at the first two due to carbs being rebuilt. I can't wait for the next though!

Here are links to my 2 fastest runs at ZMax. The 3rd run was my fastest at 70.240 sec. My 4th run would have been faster, but I screwed up the approach to the slalom, so it was 70.277 sec.

I know this is a little late, but would some of you experts out there take a look at this video of my 3rd and 4th runs from ZMAX and give me some feedback? These were my "best" runs of the day, but they definitely didn't feel very good. I ended up with a 66.8 and 66.4 on these runs, but I feel like I should've been able to turn a 64.XX.
I have a few ideas of what I needed to do better in certain sections but I'd love to hear from you guys to see if my "hunches" line up with your thoughts. Thanks in advance for your help!

You were late on the back section of the course before the sweeper. After that left hander before the transition section I was pretty much flat out. Looks like you could have carried a lot more speed through their if your initial imputs with the steering wheel came sooner. Also more speed around the sweeper was available, harder on the gas then harder on the brakes before you turn into the slalom.

Thanks Mike, the section leading to the back sweeper, the sweeper itself, and the entry to the slaloms definitely felt bad to me. I kept thinking I should be able to go flat out entering the back sweeper, but could never pull it off. It makes sense that earlier, slightly more aggressive steering inputs would've allowed me to carry more speed. I really appreciate the feedback.

Show the video to me in person. You carried many good lines. Earlier steering inputs would help a lot. Like Kuhn said, there is a reason why that section was called "kamikaze row". You had to setup in the very beginning and all way thru it though. It was flat out thru it, but brakes into the sweeper were a must, maybe not with Hoosiers though. Your driving well Joe, keep it up!

Thanks a lot AJ. I knew I should've been able to go flat out in that "kamikaze" section, and I tried with my right foot, but my "grandma" hands wouldn't follow suit. Oh well, I guess that's what keeps us coming back; there's always something to improve on and do better.

If I remember right, Elise's struggle with turn in to begin with. Kurt's car is WAY better right now XD and we have a few more tweaks to do tomorrow.
